Lost Black cat (Oct. 13). Last seen 6 am. Was feral when he adopted us as a stray 1 year ago. Had a collar embedded in his neck. I tamed him enough that he came in at night. Reward offered when cat returned. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! He is up-to-date on shots and neutered. PLEASE contact me with any sighting. Email [email protected] or call 716-741-4013.

Search the perimeter of the house and yard. I had a semi-feral who fell out of my living room window. Turns out he was living in a craw space in the basement entrance. Don't give up. Try trapping if you have to.

Good luck!!

I am searching non stop and notified everyone I can think of. I will continue to search. He is not feral with us anymore and slept inside on my bed every night. But he could NOT be tamed to be exclusively indoor. I have 2 other indoor only cats and one Akita and he truly misses this cat who was his best friend.

This website has lots of suggestions. I can not encourage you enough to go to every shelter in your area and fill out a lost pet form. Bring a current photo. While you're there, check every cage (even in the dog area). Check the infirmary also. Then, go back every single day and check again.

Sadly, we learned that the shelter volunteers don't always have time to check their database. You must take this on yourself.

Our Kuhio was put to sleep the day AFTER we were there searching for her. They had her in the infirmary. A room that they didn't even tell us about. They didn't bother to search their database or they would have surely figured out that both a lost cat and found cat entry was in there -- 2 houses apart from each other. Kuhio paid the ultimate price for us trusting the volunteers there.

Also, as awful as it will be, you must check their DOA file. :(

Good luck!

In one of the follow stories I did see a mention of possibly hiring a pet detective that would use a tracking dog to locate a missing cat.

thank you I did not think fo a pet detective/tracking dog. Have to see where I can find one. Thank you for the suggestion.
