TORONTO - A backpack and school books belonging to a missing Toronto teen have reportedly been found near her high school.
Seventeen-year-old Mariam Makhniashvili hasn't been seen since arriving at Forest Hill Collegiate with her younger brother on Sept. 14. Media reports the backpack containing the books was found in a small parking lot about a three-minute drive from Mariam's school.

A man who reportedly looked inside the backpack called police when he noticed Mariam's name on the books inside.
Toronto police will hold a news conference at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the new developments in the case.
The found items would mark the first major break in the case since Mariam disappeared.
