I just came across this, thought it a good reference resource for anyone with a deaf dog.

I figured if I put it here, then in another month or 3, when someone joins us asking, I can search and find it, lol! ;)

Thanks, will give it a read. Sasha is deaf due to old age. Maybe I can learn something to help her out. She's getting pretty good with hand signals though.

Amazing! Someone has posted on craiglist near me, has a deaf Boston Terrier. I'm sending her the link, it may help. I just found this and now I can use it!

I'd love to adopt a deaf dog.. since I'm deaf too. :) That would be very cool, to communicate with him/her by using sign language!

Honestly, I would take a deaf dog. I mean, you'll always have to leash them, but hello, beagle (Remy doesn't do well off leash at all) and you'll just have to learn hand signals, which Remy knows both verbal and hand signals.

There was a deaf dalmatian on here once and I would have taken her in a heart beat. <3 A lot of my family thought Honda was deaf but they just didn't realize she had selective hearing. Lol

My local news had a story about a deaf and blind dachshund puppy that was found in a WalMart parking lot. He goes up for adoption on Friday. He was the absolute cutest thing in the world. He was mostly white with some of the dapple coloring. I guess that hand signals wouldn't work since he was blind also. They think that a breeder dropped it off in the parking lot because of its genetic deficiency. GRR!
