Oh my, this is very sad. He was a ballet dancer before he got into acting.

And Larry Gelbart died - he co-wrote the book of the musical "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" - he wrote for "Your Show of Shows", wrote almost 100 M*A*S*H episodes and the movies "Oh, God" and "Tootsie".

My friend was diagnosed w/pancreatic cancer at least a year before Swayze was and he lived a year longer than Swayze who had the advantage of trying new treatments, etc. My friend lived a virtually pain free life until the very end. I hope that the same can be said for Swayze who is now resting in peace.

My brother in law was diagnosed in July 2007 and passed in September 2007. Sometimes it is much more aggressive than other times.

My thoughts and prayers are with Patrick's family, as I know they will be needing strength in the days ahead.

This is sad news. Patrick Swayze seemed to be one of the really good ones; devoted husband, moving actor, good friend and passionate about fighting for a cancer cure. The whole package. I'm sure he will be missed by many who loved him.

There are really no adequate words how sad I feel that Patrick's time came so soon. He was one of a kind without a doubt.

I enjoyed all the memories in this piece.

When I heard this last night, I had a breakdown of emotion. I was hoping and praying he would make it. Anyone dealing with a family member or friend with cancer, can especially relate to how courageous this dear man was throughout it all. He was a special person and I know he touched the hearts of alot of people.

Rest In Peace Patrick :( You gave it all you had and more. You will be sadly missed by many.:(

Allmost done with Dirty Dancing, Ill probably watch Red Dawn next.

MJs death went on for days, and a non creepy, non drug addict, good guy like Mr Swaze doesnt even get 2 pages?

Its probably too early to start making jokes about a sequel to Ghost.
