It is a million miles from the clamour of a life that was seldom out of the public eye.

Jade Goody lies in peace in beautiful countryside. For a while after her funeral in April, she was rarely alone. Widower Jack Tweed, 22, visited with flowers. Mum Jackiey held picnics at the grave in Upshire, Essex.

Now, with Jackiey mainly living abroad and Jack moving on, only a handful of pot plants remain and the grass is threadbare.

Jack Tweed has been arrested by police investigating an allegation of sexual assault by a teenager.

The widower of reality television star Jade Goody, who died in March, is being held at an east London police station, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

The 22-year-old from Essex was detained after a woman in her late teens said she had been sexually assaulted.

A second man, also in his 20s, has been arrested in connection with the inquiry, the police spokesman said.

Mr Tweed married Jade Goody a month before the Big Brother star died of cervical cancer.

A police spokesman said the alleged assault took place in Redbridge, north-east London, in the early hours of the morning.

"A female in her late teens has made an allegation of sexual assault.

"Two men in their 20s have been arrested in connection with the inquiry."

Turned to alcohol

The two men, who are believed to have met the woman at a nightclub on Thursday, are being questioned at separate east London police stations.

The alleged attack happened at a residential address, although police would not confirm if the property in question was the home of Mr Tweed.

His spokesman, Mark Thomas, declined to comment on the arrest but confirmed that a lawyer had been hired to represent the 22-year-old.

Mr Tweed has spoken about how he has struggled to come to terms with the death of his wife, and admitted turning to alcohol to ease the pain.

He said last month: "I don't really know how I'm bearing up at the moment.

"I'm drinking quite a lot, which I shouldn't be."

He was freed from prison in May after serving half of a 12-week sentence for assaulting a taxi driver.
