... that today is the birthday of Los Angeles? On this day in
1871, Felipe de Neve founded El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora La
Reina de Los Angeles de Porciuncula -- that's Los Angeles to
me and you... ;-)

In this pic, I live near the upper left hand corner, near the 'valley' in the words, "San Fernando Valley".

As you can see the green areas in the region. those are the ones that have burned.

The pictures...

The skyline picture is facing east. On clear winter days you can see the snow from freeway next to the beach.

The domed buildings are the Griffith Park Observatory. I really neat place to go catch science and tech stuff.
