View Full Version : My day so far...

I woke up this morning with a pounding headache. I popped two Advil and set out to run a ton of errands.

First, we had to pick up hubby's car from the shop. $180 due for what was supposed to be a $40procedure. Okie dokie... no problem. I paid the guy with my Visa bank card and we headed to errand #2.

Errand #2 was my shrink appointment, which I was REALLY looking forward to since he's been on vacation and I missed having him keep me grounded. He came out to the waiting room and escorted someone else back to his office..... I went to the counter and asked the lady why he took someone else. Apparently he had me on the wrong time. I missed my appointment, which was when we were at the car place. My appointment card said the time I showed up -- I even showed it to the lady behind the counter.

So we had time to kill, and hubby offered to take me to breakfast for my favorite: Belgian Waffles. We ordered my beloved waffle and wait... and wait... and wait. Finally, the waitress came out: they no longer can make waffles. No matter that there is half a menu page dedicated to them. They don't make them any longer. I felt like crying -- over waffles. I had a very unsatisfying meal and paid with my Visa bank cafrd.

Then we go fill my new prescription for allergies. I thought perhaps my screaming headache was due to sinuses. I was looking forward to relief in the form of a new pill. NOPE -- my insurance won't pay for it without being pre-approved. Fine. Whatever. I picked up some more sinus Advil, with my Visa bank card (notice a trend here)

Then we had one more errand to run -- to the bank to deposit money. I noticed yesterday that my car payment was withdrawn from my personal account. I thought it was coming from the joint account. Ooopsie on me. We ran to the bank for a quick funds transfer. Upon depositing the money, the teller tells me that I'm $600 in the HOLE. Our car repair, the breakfast (that stank), the Advil... bounced. In fact, I had NINE bounced fees. To the tune of $350. I had a serious breakdown in the middle of the bank. Hyperventillation, tears, the whole nine yards.

And its barely lunch.

Please, don't give me anything else today! I'm hiding in the bedroom and not coming out!

All I can say is I'm sorry...The bank one I'm awfully familiar with - it happened to me last February (through no fault of my own, by the way) - but I cannot imagine all that in one morning.

I'd hide, too.:(

Yep...bed is a good place. I would have had a melt down too. Will the bank forgive the charges since it was an honest mistake with the mortgage payment? I hope...I hope...

I hid under the covers til 3:30, when my doctor called and wanted to know if I wanted the 3:45 slot. I just couldn't even THINK of leaving the covers, let alone the house.

Then the bank called and they're going to remove all the overdraft charges, except for $15. I can live with $15. Thank goodness they worked with me. I don't know if it was because they felt bad for me though. The poor manager had to listen to me bawl and hyperventillate the entire conversation. :o I think he felt terrible for the poor woman having a nervous breakdown on the other end of the phone.

I feel MUCH better, but my headache is still there. I've hardly eaten anything today, unless you count gummy bears. Hey, they're made with real fruit these days, right?

When you feel well enough tp leave the house, go pick up a copy of "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" - it's a great little children's book, and good to read (you can read it to Cam if you need an excuse) when you are having a rotten day.

Hey Karen, that's one of my favourite books too! My middle son says he still reads it when he has a bad day; The little boy in the story looks exactly like my son did at that age!

Catnapper, have a much better "rest of the week", honey!

EAT something! No wonder your head hurts!

Something with protein - piece of chicken, cheese, anything and a slice of bread.

Low blood sugar doesn't help!

HUGS!

You had what is known in the world of nutjobs as a "certifiable meltdown". You are by ALL MEANS entitled to it. Go take a hot bath, back in your pj's, 1/2 gallon of Edies Ice Cream and the tv on to your favorite soap. Has always worked for me. It's known as going "underground". It's a wonderful thing.;)

Well, it does sound like things have improved somewhat. We all have those days when we want to hide from the world. I do something similar to what Donna suggested, except that it usually includes a pot of tea and chocolate and a movie that I can get lost in. Whatever works. I hope you're feeling better now. (((HUGS))) from Ohio from someone who's been there.

Thanks so much for the support. I felt so pathetic all day yesterday. Cameron BEGGED me to paint with him all day so I finally drug my sorry butt outta bed and got out the paints. He wanted ME to paint something too.... so I painted a picture for my daughter's apartment. It turned out pretty cool, and its my interpretation of an art print we saw for her bathroom

the "real" artwork

My interpretation of it

my framed painting -- it cost me nothing because I had the frame and matting in the basement. I do need glass since I broke it last night , but she can wait for the glass. At least she has a nice piece to bring color into an other wise boring bathroom.

Hubby insists yeaterday wasn't such a bad day if I was able to paint the picture. I have to admit, I had fun painting it, then matting it.
