View Full Version : Look what I have in my bathroom

I’ve got a new problem on my hands.... a young cat had gone into someone’s staircase around the corner. A guy living there found the cat on the topfloor, laying huddled up and scared. He took it and put it in a box, but he has two cats himself, so he would not take this kitty inside. So it has been sitting on his doormat all night in the box. I spoke to him and another "catlady" in the yard when Fister was down this morning. I decided to take the cat up in my bathroom, where he/she still is - with litterbox, food and water. I think it’s a she, judging from shape of the face. Will call the Cat Rescue people in the morning and hopefully they will come and get her. She is not earmarked, so not sure if she's a stray or belongs to someone. She managed to scratch my hand a bit. Fister still hasn't a clue she's there.

Edit to add: She has now been in the litterbox! :)

Here’s a few pics and video clips:

Sweet little face. A bit feisty I see. You might want to tame him/her down a bit before you call cat rescue. I know in my area they will not keep a cat that is not socialized. Sadly they will put them down if they are not social. :(

Or so you THINK! :p

Maybe a quick Vet Check ...
then a quiet intro to the Man of the House?

"Oh Fister ... Look what Meowme found for you." ;)

She looks very pretty. I tell you two cats is easier than one;)

What a lovely face she has. She isn't terriably terrified so I think she would be easy to tame down once she has settled in. She is just in a strange place and once comfortable and use to you, she will tame down. Give her some time..

Oh Randi, she is a very pretty little girl. I think she is just too unsettled right now with all of the new scents and strange surroundings.

She is just protecting herself.

What have you named her? :D:D

My heart leapt when I saw her. She looks so much like my Taz. I actually got tears in my eyes.
Thank you for saving her from what and where ever she was.

If theres anything that a Cat can sense instantly Randi, is the prescence of another Cat.
I have the feeling that Fister may like the New Arrival after he teaches her just who the boss in in your home!!!
:):)
She has such a Sweet Little Face, and I pray that she warms up to you and becomes Your Cat!!!
:love::love::love:
Where could she find a better home than yours with the lovely garden??

Scooter Bug says, "Well, I knew I had a twin out in the world somewhere. I never realized I had so mannnnny of them!"

This one is a keeper if you can calm him/her down... I may be biased because s/he does look just like my Scooter Bug. :)

I really don’t think it’s a good idea to keep her in my bathroom, she gets more and more aggressive and stressed out being confined, so she’d be better off in the yard. Also, if I call the rescue people in the morning, they may come and get her, but will probably put her to sleep. :(

I’ll talk with some of the other residents about what to do.

She's beautiful, Randi! But it saddens me to read that the rescue people may put her to sleep! :( I hope there's going to be another solution for her! Can't she be kept in your yard, like RB Pjevs?

Rather testy isn't she ...

More like a bit on the Fee-Rocious side.

S/He just needs a lil bit of "socialization" ...
Move into the bathrooom with your favorite chair, blankie, pllow, book, and
a big fistfull of KAT Treets. Try 1 treet per page read for starters.

How long can S/He possibly resist?

Aw Randi, what a cute little terror you found there  !!! In fact, she looks a lot like my own Snoopy! Maybe a good name for her ;):D

Hey, isn't it time to give Fister a new little sister :D;)? I am sure he knows VERY well what mommy's hiding in her bedroom!!
Of course there will be lots of hissing, but I am sure you would be able to make these 2 get along!!!
Hey, please keep her untill August 9th, so I can give her a good Flemish cuddle!!:love::love:

What a sweet face. I agree that she is getting scarier and nervous because she is in a closed room. She feels aggressed when she sees you, as she can't escape or hide. I don't know how safe it is outside, but perhaps she could get used to you and socialize better if she stays in the garden. And you could also see how Fister will react to her. He might hiss only at the beginning to let her know who the boss is, but then he will like her ;)

Good luck, it's never easy to know what to do.

She's scared to pieces! Poor thing! ...and Fister ABSOLUTELY knows there's someone in the bathroom! ;)

Keep us posted, and good luck. I hope she can be socialized.

Well, I let her down in the yard, even though it's not allowed anymore, but since it's not my cat, what can they do! One of the girls upstairs helped me get her down, it was quite a show! We brought some food down and sat with her for a while. She seemed a lot more relaxed, but would not come near.

I could not bear the thought of her being put to sleep, and also, we're not quite sure if she belongs to anybody. One of the caretakers seems to think she belongs to someone in the yard across the road. We're going to find out about that.

Thanks for your concern. :)
