So yesterday my friend and I went out with our dogs out onto this trail that leads to a semi-hidden beach. Sam was off leash and he was doing great! He stuck around and didn't wander off too far. He was trying so hard to keep up with my friend's Border Collie, Moko, who kept trying to lose him in the brush. Then when we got to the beach he wasn't even hesitant about going into the water! He went right in! He only went out far enough for him to actually swim once but it is a good start for a former water-fearful dog.

Watching Moko swim out to get the stick, notice he is in the water?^

It's fun to play in the water, isn't it Sam? I see you're getting big!:D

Awww, what a good boy! My Taggart is afraid of water too. Well, he's not afraid of the sprinklers, in fact he likes to play in them. But try to get him to swim in my parents pool......NO WAY!! He's just getting used to playing in the kiddie pool we have for them.

It helps to have another dog for them to watch too. Way to go Sam!! :D

Cool pics! I miss having a dog that swims. Casey is a "Waterless" Labrador. She has never liked water and refuses to swim. She doesn't even like to walk in wet grass!
