I think a road trip -a safari- is in order for this week.
Since we have a long trip ahead, we have to start early.

Let's pack up the car and let's go to the wild animal park!!!!

Banana Daiquiri recipe

That was a riot! Is there any explanation anywhere of what exactly that car was doing in that spot around all those baboons?? Just curious....

Yes, I think a Banana Daiquiri is just right, thanks! Maybe we'll put some tropical chicken skewers on the grill as well (chicken, pineapple, red pepper and sweet/sour sauce). Crank up the mixer and the grill!!:D

I couldn't imagine WHY the car's occupants didn't just *start 'er up* and drive away
before the Valets trashed the car carrier.

THEN I read the fine print:
The baboons at Knowsley Safari Park ( http://www.knowsley.com/s_park (http://www.knowsley.com/s_park) )
have taught themselves how to open roofboxes on the top of visitors cars as they go through.
Visitors with the boxes are now advised to take the car friendly route and
to demonstrate why we produced a press release with a box set up by staff.
This video was taken alongside the still shots issued in the press release.
More videos are available at the Knowsley Safari Park website

I think it should be "let's go unpack the car" and go to the wild animal park:D

Maybe we could distract the baboons with some of those banana
daiquiries.

Richard, good choice of drink of the week - I'd like one please.

I want ice cream!

We went on a Photo Safari within the San Diego Wild Animal Park once, and it was great. Rhinoceros, by the way, are real messy eaters, but we got to hand feed them chunks of apple. I did, anyway, Paul wanted to avoid the major slime factor!

Was this before the hand sanitizer era?;)

Now, you have to tell me WHAT kind of ice "scream" you want.

I haven't seen Chai flavored, yet...

Let me start you out with a french vanilla to prep your palate?

DONE!

--------------

I had a wonderful walnut ice cream the other day.

Here in CA we have guys that have the half bicycle/half ice cream cooler rig they ride around on.
They sell the best fruit bar/popsicles on the planet.

I stop the guy and buy 3-4 at a time......I wish I could send one out to everyone!

Any ice cream would be fine. This is Thursdays, where all food has no calories, and no allergens .... so how about a good New England tradition:

Maple walnut ice cream
Warmed maple syrup poured over it
Walnut pieces sprinkled on top

Anybody else want one?

Have you ever heard of BLT bites? They're addicting-had them at a participatory dinner recently-I'll have to post the recipe when I pull it out of my email...they're cherry tomatoes hollowed out with some combination of bacon, mayo, parmesan, and parsley I think. Real simple, and so POPPABLE for hors d'eouvres!

Anyway, barkeep, set 'em up again! :)

Saw that on the news last night. Reminded me of my visit earlier this year to Safari West - SO much fun! They didn't have monkeys or baboons, tho - lots of Zebra (who were a lot of fun), Giraffe, all sorts of exotic birds, deer and elk who were just amazing to see up close and personal AND an ostrich - Henry the Ostrich was hilarious and wouldn't let us out of the compound. I missed the Lemurs because it was way too hot for them that day and the Cheetahs were just chilling in the shade. I NEED to go back! They're on FAcebook now and I've been getting updates with pics of all the newborn animals. Such a phun place!

Today is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day so I'll have a scoop of that and one of those banana thingies :D

RICHARD

This one sounded good to go with the Sherbert:

Gingered Lemon-Lime Fizz Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup lime juice
2 cups cold water
4 teaspoons honey
2 cups ginger ale
4 thin lime slices (optional)

Directions:

In a 2-quart pitcher, combine the lemon juice, lime juice, water, and honey and set aside.

Fill 4 12-ounce glasses with ice cubes, divide the lemon-lime juice mixture among them, then top with the ginger ale. Stir briskly and put a lime slice, if you like, in each drink.

I'll have one with some lime sherbert, please! :)

The dasher is the part of the ice cream maker that mixes the ice cream inside the maker. It sort of looks like a steamboat paddel with only two paddles. It helps to put air into the ice cream so it's nice and fluffy. The Ben & Jerry's recipe only makes a generous quart but I always double it so we get at least a half gallon out of it.:D So yes I have enough to share.:D:D:D
