Some recent posts about new cars have made me wonder if I'm insane..no comments from the peanut gallery! I've always named my cars. I currently have a black 2005 Saturn Ion named Sam as in Samantha Stevens from Bewitched. My friend had a convertable Rabbit back in the day named Shebop. My sister's car is Fred. Anyone else? :D

My car's named Turtle. I always have named my car, and name all my stuffed animals, and the little figurines on my desk, too! My previous cars were all named.

I have owned dozens of cars and have never named even one. I can think
of a few names %$*& I have thrown at one or two but nothing official.

I have usually referred to my cars by what they were make wise. Right now we have 3
cars , with descriptive names like "The Mazda", "The Audi" and "The VW".

Nope.. I sure don't name my cars. Sometimes I'll refer to it as The Beast.. and when my brother returned it to me after borrowing it while his was in the shop.. He called it The Tank. I've known others who name them, but to me.. its the Xterra. :)

No names here. Mine is the car and Bruce's is the truck, which I sometimes refer to as the Monster. His previous Yukon was the Beast.
When I was a child I had names for all my stuffed animals. It's actually very strange that I don't name everything since I am such a name fanatic.

I always name my cars, and my parents do too. My Aspire was unofficially named Eeyore but I generally call it "the doodlebug". I also have a parts Aspire appropriately dubbed Scrappy. My Cobalt is Daisy. My first car was an '84 Cougar named Freddie (as in Freddie Mercury).

My cars all had names:
Blueberry, my first car, blue Honda hatchback (I was living in Maine, Blueberry country!)
Black Stallion, black Honda Civic, had more horse power than Blueberry and took me some time to adjust, lol

And now I have Carmine, my red Prius. Carmine means red, and after a 3 month wait, this "car is all mine." lol.

Can't think of any other inanimate objects I've named, though.

Sometimes they have formal names but I never use them. My car is officially Sectumsempra and my external hard drive is Squishy.

I have never named a car... nor do I refer to it as a she or a he. My mum named my jeep "Olive", though. That word just puts a bad taste in my mouth.

My computer is named "The Guru", though...

My first car was a 1990 Ford Escort... Ellie Escort.
My 2nd was a 1995 Mercury Cougar ... Jasmine, Jazz for short.
My ex-husband had a black 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII called Storm.

After I moved to Phoenix, I traded Jazz in and got a 2000 Dodge Lemon, err, Intrepid which I forget the name of, as it was referred to as "#(#)@ P.O.S." more often than anything else.

Hubby and I now have a 2004 Mustang named Dixie and a 2006 Impala named Daisy.

Yes of course, our car is Emma, because she is an emerald green colour, actually it is really teal, but hey close enough and my daughter has called her car the Beast, because it is quite a big car for her first car.:)

Mustang sally...I love it! My brother had a car way back when and we named it the Mean Mustard Machine cause it was the ugliest color EVA! I guess I've never named anything else but I always thought how cool it would be to own a property with a name. Like Tara in Gone With The Wind. I would call a property or a boat Avalon I think.

My whole family names their vehicles. For a time my sister had a car called Silver - she had to explain to people that yes, it was colored silver, but it was named after the horse, so she could tell it, "Hi, Ho, Silver, away!"

My brother's pick-up is Bumble the Abominable Snow Truck - 'cause he's a great big white sturdy truck, and does well in the snow - important because he lives on a big hill in snow country! Bumble is a much prettier truck than the Yellow Peril was, which (I know he's off of Pet Talk for the next 24 hours, staying at Dad's) was kind of the color of an over-ripe banana, complete with brown (rust) spots.

Turtle is named that because he is green, and wouldn't do well flipped on his back. He's my first higher-off-the-ground vehicle (Honda CRV), so the name was initially a reminder to go a bit slower on corners than I used to do.

Back when I was in college, I had Bill the Car (named after Bill the Cat) a multi-colored/textured beast, and then I had Hal, which was a Comet!

My Toyota Camry's name is Tobias. Mostly because it is a dignified car, and he deserved a dignified name. I don't actually refer to him as Tobias, but I always refer to the car as a "he"..

I have a '98 Ford Explorer named Ogre (he is rather a Shrek green and I couldn't call him Shrek, despite it being one of my favorite movies) and my hubby has a '04 Ford F-250 named Beast....

Some cars I name. I had a VW New Beetle named Ringo, and I have an old Super Beetle named George. I tried to impart the humor in that to my son one day, he so did not get it. *sigh* I felt about 112 years old.

I used to have a Geo Prism when my son was a toddler. When we bought it, he proudly told his daycare class, "We got a new car and it's a PRISON!" LMAO! So, from then on, the poor car was forever know as The Prison.

My dad called his truck Big Blue, so that is still his name after I inherited him.

And, yes, all my cars and trucks and vans are male, too, it seems.

I really like my new Mazda 6, but he doesn't have a name. We call him The Zoom Zoom, from the TV commercials, but I'm not sure that's a name.

My first postal jeep got a name because it was a huge pain in the a$$ but it was really easy to work on. I also had 3 postal jeeps at the time. My first Blazer my friends named the goat.
