If you remember, I posted a thread a while back about Junebug being pregnant.

I came home from work today right as she was going into labor. We put her in Sydney's XL kennel for some privacy and to keep her somewhat contained. We stuck her in an old laundry basket with a ratty blanket and pillow, where she delivered baby number 1, an adorable black tiger striped tabby. About 20 mins later, out pops #2, an orangie!! 30 mins later, baby #3 was born; another black tiger tabby. I ran an errand quick (mom stayed with Junebug to watch/assist if needed) and I came home about an hour and a half later, and there were THREE MORE ORANGIES!!

I don't know about you, but I'm a hardcore orangie lover!

So we have six beautiful babies. Two tabbies and four orangies. Don't know the sexes yet because Junebug is VERY protective of them. They're so very tiny! I don't remember any of our other litters being so tiny. But all are doing VERY well, nursing great, nice and clean, etc.

Pics soon! I'm uploading them as we speak. =]

Here we go. =]

I think this was baby number one. After they were all born, I lost track of who was who. =p

TOO CUTE!!!! :D

I recall you had a couple of homes lined up - but I bet you weren't expecting SIX babies!

You'll just have to keep a couple. ;)

Junebug looks very content and happy. I bet she is eating a LOT. Do momcats need any special food or calcium or anything?

I hope all seven of them continue to thrive and be healthy!

I've heard from a lot of people that it's good to feed the mommy kitten food as opposed to adult cat food, just for the nutrients that are in kitten foods.

We were NOT expecting 6! A co-worker, who owns cats, has bred them and shown them for competition, told me it looked like no more than 3 or 4.

They're so adorable and I'm glad that everyone is doing well.:) My childhood orange cat had 2 litters of nothing but orangies because the father was also an orangie. She had 6 kittens each time so I used to think that this litter size was normal.:) I learned much later that these were very large litters. I also learned that most orangies are males. I guess it's a sex linked thing.;)

Those kittens look about the right size for newborns.

I have found that mixing dry KMR with all the wet food Mama will eat is good. After all, she has 6 extra mouths to feed! Gorgeous Mama and kittens.

yes kitten food or KMR is good for mamas. They pass the extra nutrients on to their babies.

Everyone is doing well. The first few "overnights" always scare me, what can I say, I'm just a nervous mom, lol.

Although I do remember waking up to a very angry kitten last night, lol. He was squeaking pretty loud! I'm thinking mom got up and went potty or something and he lost his breakfast spot! :D

I remember reading somewhere that most orangies are male. Looks like she's got quite the herd of little boys to tend to! :D :D

All those kitties are sooo cute!! But Junebug is the best with her contented smile as she cares for her babies. Such a good little mother she is! Give them all hugs and kisses from me!:love:

Junebug looks so blissful. That sure is a lot of kittens that are going to need homes though. Good luck with them all!
