:p i don't wanna share, hahaha. Did i mention that I'm on a first name basis with Tim (barn owner) for the first time in 5 yrs because I'm riding his baby? I went to see who I was riding and he said (and I quote) "Oh, Melanie you're riding Brookie today." He has NEVER acknowledged me before!!!

haha yeah! I'm pretty tall and I still have issues getting on her - from the mounting block!

This mare has SO much potential - I'm so lucky to be able to ride her! Plus my new trainer (had two lessons so far) said that I'm at a level where I could be showing, if I were so inclined. Of course, we don't have the $$ to, but it was still nice to hear!

Do you have local or open circuits? I know where I used to live your average open show came to about $200 but where I am now the local circuit is much cheaper. It comes to about $40 a show.

(sorry it took so long for me to respond to this lol)

i have no idea. I know they go to all the fancy shows, like last weekend they were down in Chicago for one. But in addition to the show fees, i think i'd have to pay for the use of a horse, plus show clothes. I'm hoping next year, once my dad's business picks up again, we can go to maybe a show or two.

Ask around and see if anyone will let you borrow some clothes. Also look for tack swaps. I got my yellow ratcatcher for $3 at a swap.

i'd be hard pressed to find anyone at my barn with close the same size as me, lol. they're all either really short, or my height but super super skinny. hahaha

but yeah, i have been looking out for good deals, as well as saving up money. I'm thinking that, depending on how business is for my dad, I might ask for some clothes for X-mas, but idk.

Thanks for the suggestions!

ooh - though! EBAY!
