We had our final church service at Epiphany Lutheran Church this morning. It was an upbeat service, but at the same time really sad that this is our last one there. We were given menentos like christmons from our christmas trees and CD-ROMS of with pictures of the church through the years. I'll be going to another church, but it just won't be the same again. A piece of my heart went with Epiphany.

That sucks that something as personal and something so integrated into your life as your church gets taken away by our failing economy.

*hugs* (thats the second time I have done that. New record!)

In the bulb there is a flower,
In the seed an apple tree,
In cocoons, a hidden promise:
Butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of winter,
There’s a spring that waits to be,
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see.

There’s a song in every silence,
Seeking word and melody;
There’s a dawn in every darkness,
Bringing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the future;
What it holds, a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see

In our end is our beginning,
In our time infinity;
In our doubt there is believing.
In our life, eternity,
In our death a resurrection,
At the last, a victory
Unrevealed until its season
Something God alone can see.

A hymn I thought you might find appropriate, I don't know if you sing this one in the Lutheran church, but we do!

Karen, it's not a Lutheran hymn, but the words are so beautiful and very appropriate for what I'm feeling right now. Thank you for sharing it with me. LES coming.
