Thank you, everyone!

It's been pretty quiet so far.. Maybe that's just as well...

Today is also Sparkler's Gotcha Day! Or maybe that isn't the proper term, because it isn't the day I brought her home (which I did on the Winter Solstice, Dec. 21, last year).. She was rescued and brought to the shelter one year ago today. Anyway, so I guess it is a special day for her too!

Today I went to the Secretary of State's office to get an "enhanced" driver's license. This will enable me to go to the cat show in Windsor (Ontario) next month and then be allowed back into my native land without having to be put through the wringer by Homeland Security.

Then I went to Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (local bus service) office and got my Senior pass. Now I can ride the buses for free! Whoopee! It's a card with my name and picture and below those the word SENIOR in big black letters on a yellow background. It comes in a clear plastic holder that I can clip on to my clothing or hang from a lanyard, so I won't lose it.

I guess I am now officially an Old Person. :D :)

Happy Birthday, Phesina! And congratulations on your Senior bus card - good to have! :D Can you use it at all hours? I think here it's not valid from 7-9 am, and then from 3-5 pm. I'll find out in a few years. LOL!

Thanks, Randi! I think I can use the bus pass any time. But then, Ann Arbor is only a moderate-size city. The bus system isn't all that extensive and isn't used to the degree that I'm sure a city the size of Copenhagen's is.

When I lived around Boston for ages and ages, it appeared to me that the Seniors could use their transit passes only at non-rush-hour times.

Thank you all, for the wonderful birthday greetings! They all made me smile.

So far, no surprise parties (or other surprises) from the cats..

 WoW Pat sounds to me like your working today..

I also stopped at the cat shelter to drop off some clean laundry. (A couple times a week I take 3 large-trash-bags-full of dirty cat-laundry to a laundromat, wash it, dry it, fold it, and bring it all back.) While I was there I wound up giving subcutaneous fluids to a cat that was very dehydrated and I didn't want to wait until someone else showed up to do it.. Then after being told we were all out of kitten food, both wet and kibble, and just about out of grownupcat wet food and kibble, I drove to Petsmart, loaded up a car-ful of food, then brought THAT back and put it away..

Woo Hoo Happy Gotcha too Miss Sparkler..;)

Sparkler got her Microchip yesterday! And I bought her a pretty pink collar at Petsmart, but I can't find it right now.. hope it didn't get stored at the shelter in all that cat food..

A belated thank you, Candace and Daisy and Delilah.. And thanks also to Cassie and her Mom!

Today one of the people I work with at the shelter brought in a cake she'd made herself for me and a beach tote with matching flip-flops and other little treats in it for a belated birthday surprise! What fun.. I think the older I get, the longer I'm going to have each birthday last...

Thank you, Jenn! and no, you're not late, it's still going on :D ..

Tonight my sister and her partner are taking me out for dinner at The Earle, which I think is a very classy French restaurant in Ann Arbor but I've never been there before.

I just GoodSearched it, and it already sounds promising!:
