Hi,

I was wondering if you all could take a minute to sign this petition. I was going to do another round of this shot until I saw this petition and realized that some of my health problems that I have now are related to this shot that I received back in 2003-2004.

I have several of the side effects listed and the worst one for me is the degenerative disc disease, which can only be fixed now by having painful back surgery which I'm putting off as long as I can. I would really really appreciate it if you could forward this onto your friends and ask them all to sign this. It's very important that people know what this drug can do and how harmful it is and it would mean a lot if you could have more people sign this for me.

Thank you, here is the link.

This is a very sore subject with me! Drugs that are released after the only testing that is done is by the people who are going to profit and how hard it is to get one removed from the market, even when it kills and cripples many.. Grrrrrrr!

So sorry you are going thru this, and I know how Laura feels too. I had a similar bad drug encounter, but fortunately it turned out okay for me.

In the late 60's with my last pregnancy, my doctor put me on a drug (that has since been taken off the market), to prevent a miscarriage, since I had a history of this. I delivered a healthy 9 lb baby, so it did what it was supposed to do. However, about 15 years later I got notification from my doctor, that the female offspring who were born to women that had taken this drug, were developing cancer of their reproductive organs. Fortunately I had a boy, but I was advised to be aware in case there should be any problems with males developing any problems in the future. I never heard of any, and my son is a big, burly, healthy, guy who will be 40 next week. But what if I had a girl????

The point is - what do we do? Place blind faith in the doctors and pharmaceutical companies? Opt not to take the drugs and suffer the consequences? It seems there can never be a satisfactory answer to this one. :(

Here's hoping that all works out for the good in the end for you. Prayers for you from me and the fur kids.

Hi thanks for posting. I did my research on the lupron before taking the shot but I don't think I did a good enough job and now I'm paying for that price. I'm going to see a specialist in Hershey, PA at the end of this month who will hopefully offer something better than this lupron shot. The only other thing I think out there would be to have another laporscopic done and clean the endometriosis won't return. I'm not sure how this doctor will feel about performing another laporscopic on me since I've had 2 done in the past one in 1996 and 1 in 1998 and just earlier this year in March I had the lap band done and so far I've lost weight but I am skeptical about going back under if that's what he wants to do.

I'm not sure what we can do other than educate ourselves I suppose on the risks of the drugs. I wish I would have had an MRI done before I was put on the shot to see what my back looked like then but I never had any problems till a year or so after the shot.

Now the sciatica pain really stinks but I'm managing :)

Thank you for your prays.

Melissa

It's downright scary. If you listen to some of the side effects of even just sleep aids nowadays, it would scare you away. Possible suicide, death? Good grief! All a person wants is a good night's sleep! I'm sorry that you're experiencing this, Melissa. It's a shame.

I think doctors give out meds freely not even knowing how bad it can be to some people. They don't have a clue......They need to read up on these things before handing them out.

I signed.

Thank you :)

It mean a lot that I can have some more people sign this in hopes that they will look more into this shot. I only took it once and that was enough. This shot gives you menopause like symptoms and I was 23 going through menopause. It was hard enough going through 23 and to have your hormones going crazy was just terrible, I'm so glad though that threw a yahoo group I saw this petition and read it and decided not to do another round of the shot.

Thank you, I just want more awareness to be made so people don't take anything without knowing what the long term side effects could be. I'm seeing a specialist at the end of this month who I really hope will offer me some pain relief. It's hard dealing with the pain day in and day out.

Thank you again,
Melissa
