News is out that David Carradine was found dead in Bangkok today.

73 years old and they say it was natural causes!

RIP....

Wow, I remember watching him on TV as early as I can possibly remember. He was a great actor.

RIP David

MSN is saying it was suicide, they found him hanging with the cords from the curtains in his hotel room...

All the great ones from my childhood are leaving the world way sooner than they should....

As Richard said, RIP Grasshopper...you will be missed!

I am sorry to hear this - he was one of a kind. He will, indeed, be missed.

Very sad indeed. He had a killer smile! We just never know what demons haunt others, even the ones in Hollywood whom we think have the good life.

The reports I saw said natural causes too. Only on the TV at the hospital a while ago I saw the part about the rope. :(

Well, now I heard that they are saying they found the actor hung & he was naked... and still saying it was natural causes? This does not make sense.

I think they are trying to determine whether he died from the choking or from a heart attack related to the reason for him being naked

ETA: http://www.forensicpsychiatry.ca/paraphilia/aea.htm
"Estimates of prevalence are based more on mortality rates from hypoxyphilia/AEA than on living cases and are almost certainly under-representative of the practice...[this author has 15 living cases in a relatively contained geographical area.]
Fatalities resulting from AEA practices occur about one per million of the population per year in North America though it is important to note that this figure is based on...[cases] recognized as AEA"

Definitely a man who looked better when he was older!

Rest in peace, David.

Yes, I just heard that there was a rope around his "private parts" as they put it. How old does someone have to be before they learn that this is a dangerous sexual practice? What a needless tragedy, if indeed that's what happened.

Mary, apparently this practice is medically recorded as far back as the 1600's. Far more men than women engage in it - not all die, either.

It's very unforgiving of mistakes, though. Latest reports say his hands were tied behind his back...so perhaps there was someone else there, things went bad, and they left. Could be criminal proceedings out of this yet.:(

Oh I know it's an old practice, although I didn't know how old. Antiquity doesn't guarantee safety, though, obviously.
