LOL, I was talking to the Water and Power guy today.

He walked in to read the meter and on the way out he spied my Lakers banner.

He asked me if they were going to beat the Denvers tonight.

With a false sense of bravado I told him they would win by 15 points, He stopped and looked at me sideways and said, "Really?"

"No problem", I replied.

TRIPLE

The El Lays are winning by 21 with 10:16 left in the game.

Why don't I bet on sports?:eek::rolleyes:

Believe it or not, I've watched a few of the Cleveland Cavs vs. Orlando Magic games. There's one on tonight and I plan to watch it. Cleveland needs a winner so badly right now. This town is in its death throes and needs to be revived quickly! We won the last game but they're playing at Orlando tonight and LeBron James has got to be tired since he's been doing practically all the work. That man is amazing! (Well, would ya look at that? Mary is talking sports. Don't ask me any questions, though, cuz that's about all I'm able to contribute.)

Ah Richard - on this we have to disagree. Give our Trailblazers another year or two to completely gel, and we will pound the Lakers into the ground.

Sorry, can't help it - but disliking the Lakers and rooting for whomever is playing against them is kind of a minor passtime to us Oregonians.

Check out the little girl that sings the NA for the Magic home games.

She's either autistic or has some kind of ADD. She's a HUGE voice coming out of a little body!

She sang very well!

Somewhere in heaven my mom is laughing and partying because her team won it all this year.

Thanks Lakers.

She was the biggest (four foot, eleven inches) Laker fan ever!

I apologize for anything Shaq and my mom may have said or done.

The best thing was to hear my mom yell and scream when the games were on.......You would hear, "OHHHHHHHHHH" and "You Idiot!" and never really know if she was cheering for or against the team.

Last year she was disappointed and told me, "I didn't have a good year, I didn't get to yell too much....".

She's God's problem now, Basketball fans can be so loud and unruly!:D:eek::)

I was pretty into it then, our team sucks now and I am a fair weathered fan. I got on tv with a "vlade is a hottie" poster:D

So, you are the one that stole him away from my mom!:D

I am not a huge B-ball fan but we all live in California and I don't think anyone will mind if you shared in the win....I know....Everyone hates the Lakers.....but, we all can be fans for one day?:D

Um, I think Kobe used the word 'Shaq' 20-something times in his interview - or so I was told by the news guy. I didn't see it or most of the game since we are not Lakers fans :p

And yes, basketball fans CAN be loud & unruly, that is the fun of it!!

So let's hope that Shaq stays in Phoenix and Amarie is well, for the entire season, so that the Phoenix Suns can take that trophy away from LA :D:eek::)

IT's going to be a tough season, it's a purple and yellow target on the back of the jerseys! now!

I think the season would have been different if Garnett had not broke down?

Bouncing up this old thread because I can't find another one about the NBA.

DRose had his knee surgery (repairing a torn ACL) on Saturday and he is expected to be out anywhere from 8 to 12 months. Eight months would bring him back after Christmas and 12 months would mean he'd basically miss most of next season. :( He's getting paid a TON of money to keep the bench warm.

And... he's going to be out the rest of the season again with his other knee. He had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. So, once again, he's getting a small fortune but unable to play.
