Two Siberian Huskies ship out with a group of Scientists to spend two years
on a ship frozen into the Arctic Ice to take scientific measurements.

Their Job?

They are the Early Warning System - to guard the 2-Leggers and the Camp from
the ever-present wandering Polar Bears.

A really great Dawg Tail video!

Loved it! I thought the dogs looked a lot like Akitas, but what do I know? It was fascinating!

I thought the dogs looked a lot like Akitas,
but what do I know?

I'll admit to having the exact same thought!

very cool. I would consider the dogs to be alaskan huskies, they are not a true breed but are siberian huskies bred with other breeds depending on what they are used for, ei:husky/lab/greyhound for pullig and speed. Those dogs may be husky with akita mixed in for their defending and courage to take on a polar bear, as a regular siberian husky isnt that great when it comes to protecting. at least mine or the others that i know arent.

I'd bet they are Canadian Eskimo Dogs. A friend of mine breeds them and her dogs look very similar to the dogs in the video. CED's make huskies look like wussies! It would make perfect sense to use them in the arctic where they orginated and a polar bear wouldn't scare a CED!

All huskies should have a temperment not to back down from any bear or large mammal. Canadian, Alaskan, Inuit, Eskimo, etc.
