I'm planning to upgrade my computer. I'm aquiring an Apple emachine from my church. I'll get it for a goodwill offering, and I'll have a piece of Epiphany to remember. It may not be the greatest PC in the world, but at least it'll be better than the webtv I'm trying to use now.

LB, can you use a webtv boat anchor? I might sink it to the bottom of the Allegheny river, but then that would be littering!

A Apple Emachine... a hackintosh?

So is it an eMachine or an Apple machine? In either case, it will be a step up from the webTV!

Could be one of the early iMacs.

Yes, it still exists! It's Fred Flintstonish, but I'm able to get on PT with it.

My folks had WebTV for years, and loved it! Since they live in Florida and the rest of the family is in Indiana, it was a great way to stay in touch. (Sending one mass email was so much easier than umteen phone calls!)

After about 4 years of WebTV, they finally decided that "maybe this computer thing is gonna stick around" so they got a PC. Talk about loving it! I swear, everytime I call, one of them is on the computer, looking at things or playing a game. They are loving the speed at which they can maneuver through everything.

Have fun Davidp.... you will love it, I am sure!

The one I'll get is an imac g3 600. The church is still using it so I believe it's in good working order. I know it's not Univac and a little old, but it'll do until I can afford a new one.

Okay, that makes more sense! An iMac is a completely different thing than an eMachines computer!

I am sure you will enjoy it!
