http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/robinegg.JPGThis is what I found in the nest this morning, one blue egg,had to been layed there yesterday sometime.Mommy Robin was in a Maple Tree next door watching. She will have to keep an eye out for other birds like Crows and Blue Jays,Cats and Squirels.Normally 3-5 eggs in a nest, only 1 here right now, takes 2 weeks to hatch and leave the nest two weeks after that.

I checked again yesterday, went out the gate close to the nest ,scared Mommy who flew off the nest and went to the roof to where daddy was,he chased another bird away.I went around the house another way as not to scare her today and she is on the nest,it is rather cool here this morning 27 degrees.

The egg is beautiful....Make sure you keep an eye on mama when you are looking at the nest.....I was showing my little nephew an egg in a nest, once, when the mama bird flew down from the roof of my house and got me in the back of the neck!! Those little beaks hurt!! LOL Keep us updated on the beautiful little bird when he arrives!!

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/robinegg1.JPGHere is the Robin's nest this afternoon and another egg has appeared, may have layed it yesterday, she was on the nest and she was there this morning on it.There was a Robin there on the fence,it didn't bother, maybe knew I wasn't going to cause harm. The other one was layed 2 days ago, there looks like room for at least one more egg.

That is so cool. Thanks, Barry. That's something I would never really see at my house. I have birds galore but they never nest where I can see them so well.:)

I had to climb a ladder to get the pictures of the nest above the garage, something I don't like doing. It may be by the end of the week when we see babies in the nest out back, will keep a lookout on that.

That is so sad, Barry. What kind of animals would take the eggs? Poor little birdies.:(
