This afternoon I got a call from Dr. Lewis, the "regular" vet. She said she'd gotten a fax today from the emergency clinic with the pathology report for Bob's pancreas biopsy.. (the report that they had told me would take 10-14 days to get).

It said that his pancreas was basically NORMAL!!!!!!!!!:love::love:

The areas of concern showed cellular hyperplasia .. meaning an excess of cell growth in the area (not to be confused with hypOplasia [as in cerebellar], meaning fewer cells). The cell growth is not a type associated with malignancy, though. :):D:cool::rolleyes:;)

HALLELUJAH! How great is that to know my beloved Bobby doesn't have pancreatic cancer!

Thank you all so very much! Last night was the first night since this all began that I got a decent night's sleep.

Poppy and Bobby both seem to be doing fine, being their normal selves. Thank God.

I wonder that also, just what made Bob get so very sick in the first place. I am going to consult one of the regular vets, who should have heard from the emergency clinic about Bob's visit, and see if he or she might have some ideas. The emergency vet had said something about gastroenteritis, inflammation of the gastric system. Maybe Bob needs his own supply of Tums.

Thanks again for the good wishes and prayers and all. Pet Talk energy once again to the rescue!

Woohoo! :D

I wonder what made the poor baby so sick to begin with?

But glad he's better NOW!

Bob and I saw his regular vet last week. She did some more blood work and said it looks like everything is fine now and he doesn't even need to have the subQ fluids continued.

Something else in the fax she got from the emergency clinic that was discovered in the course of his examination and not that thoroughly stressed in their report was that there was also a large mass consisting of hair and packed-up poop in his intestine which had been blocking it up some and which they removed. She concluded that this was what had caused his pain and distress, especially since he has been doing just fine around his abdomen and requesting his tum-tum-rubs since he recovered from the surgery.

She suggested I brush him more frequently and give him Laxatone more often (they all get a strip once a week), so I'm doing that.
