A good friend of us has syndrome of Down. He is such a nice man!
Next week he will be 50 !!!
I asked him what he wants for his birthday. And he said: "Postcards with birthday wishes from ALL over the world!!!"

So........ please send him a postcard; you will make his day :):love::) thanks!!!!!!!!:love:

Oh, Lut! In what language should we write the birthday wishes? You say he's Down's Syndrome, so I don't know what language he reads or writes, but probably not as many of them as you!

English - Happy Birthday!
French - Joyeux anniversaire!
Flemish - please supply!

I think he will understand "Happy birthday"!! But if you want to add something in Flemish, this is Flemish for "happy birthday": GELUKKIGE VERJAARDAG !!

I just see the thread, I think it is still time. Sending a card today from France! You had a good idea asking Pet Talk! Your friend will remember his birthday! :)

I will try to get a post card with a Camel (the animal that best represents this beautiful country) and if I can one with a peacock that represents my home land INDIA!!

Mine mailed today also. Don't know how long it takes to get there, but it shouldn't arrive too long after his birthday, I would think.

I was mailing mine tomorrow.. but I wrote something else besides Happy Birthday also in english... hmm...

IŽll get that translated and add a note to it ;)....

I FINALLY got mine (three together in one envelope) in the mail yesterday! Sorry, that was the soonest I could get down to the post office.

How FUN and so sweet of you, Lut, to help with this for him! I know that whenever I get ANY mail, be it a PM, text, email or snail mail from ANYONE on PT, it makes my day...week...etc! :)

I'll send him a card or too from California. I'll have to go find some "California" specific cards somewhere. Fun!

Lut, I goofed. I found a post card with a nice picture of the Chicago skyline, and mailed it with the wrong amount of postage. I did get it back, but the U.S. Postal Service put a huge "Return to Sender" sticker on it. I'm going to buy another of the same card and send it again. It will definitely be late, and I apologize for goofing it up the first time.

I hope it brought him a lot of pleasure, as my hubby said it is nice to be able to do something that requires so little but can bring so much joy to one, i agree.:) dominique has probably never even heard of New Zealand lol.
