This is one of my favorite times of the year. March Madness is upon us. Conference tournaments this week; selection Sunday coming up; and the Madness begins on the 19th.
We have DirecTV - so are able to watch every single game, in HD.
I have loved college basketball since way back when. One of my favorite finals was back in 1985 when Villanova beat Georgetown.

I love it, too, especially when the ACC is well represented, which it certainly should be this year. Go Clemson!

Love college basketball!!! Unfortunately, my Bearcats won't be in the Tourney again this year. They may have had a shot until the loss to Seton Hall Saturday and a first round conference tounry loss today to DePaul. They may be lucky now to make the NIT....

Nice to know I'm not alone here :)
My favorite teams are from the East - where I was raised. I like UConn. 2004 was fantastic - the men and women teams winning the NCAA Championship on successive nights.
I also like Michigan State - and wouldn't it be nice to see them in the Final Four this year, since it is being played in Detroit.

IT's UCLA, Gonzaga and any team that has more than three syllables in the name.

I had Kansas picked to win it all last year....Woo-Hoo!!!!!!! It's a funny story how I picked them but let's just say I had no idea what I was doing :) This year, I plan to be strategic about my picks. I am the defending champion and have a reputation to live up to now...LOL! :)

My husband, son, and I always fill out our brackets, and the one who has the most correct gets to choose a dinner out at a place of their choice....not really a big deal, but my 13 year old son loves it when he wins! HA....I LOVE the tournament!! I love college sports in general.....Go Oklahoma!! Blake Griffin is a beast!

I really like your coach - Jeff Capel. One of Coach K's boys.

Yes, he is a good guy....very personable. My son always goes to camps at OU, and Coach Capel still loves to shoot the threes!! LOL

I can't say I am actually. I'm so glad I'm kind of isolated this year because all of the talk at school usually almost drove me crazy.

Yes it was, but I wrote that at the beginning of the first one.
They are dropping like flies out there - Kansas, Oklahoma, Pitt, UConn - this is going to make selection Sunday very interesting.

I know...I was teasing you because the game went on for so long.
I feel for you poor sporting souls on the east coast. Our games end in time for Jimmy Kimmel.

Michigan State and UNC go down to defeat this afternoon. I'm cheering for Baylor against Mizzou.
This will wreak havoc with the selection committee :D

Yes, I love the madness!! Hope my Sooners do better in the Big Dance than they did in the Big 12 tourney....but then again, a lot of top seeds went down in their conference tourneys.....I wanted Baylor to beat Mizzou, too, but I think they were just worn out...If they had played them earlier in the week, I think they would have pulled it out. I guess we can all start filling in our brackets tomorrow evening!

And now there are 16. I was hoping for a few upsets along the way. Arizona, seeded #12, the last team selected last Sunday is still alive.
At least there was some excitement the end of the day Friday, Saturday and today.

The Michigan State women have advanced to the Sweet 16 - as the MSU men did on Sunday. They were a #9 seed, and beat Duke, a #1 seed by 13 points!!
Oh yeah, the Duke coach was the MSU coach until 2 years ago.

That's the contract John Calipri will get in his new job as head coach at Kentucky.
I remember when he was at UMass.

I have UNC picked to win it all. Will I repeat as a bracket champion 2 years in a row? Nope. Someone else has UNC also but had all final 4 picked right. I just suck! :) It would be nice to have picked the winner 2 years in a row though...ought to be good for some bragging rights :)
P.S...3 actually. I had Florida St. in 2007 but my bracket was finished long before the final game.

March Madness (even though it ends in April) is going out like a lion - weather wise. We have 4 inches of snow on the ground this morning!!

My house in upstate NY (I don't live there now) got 2 feet yesterday and the wind made 3 foot snowdrifts blocking the driveway  I only live 90 miles South of there and we had a nice sunny day yesterday. I don't miss lake effect snow :)

My friend's son was at the final four, rooting for MSU! AND, his picture was on the front page of the Detroit paper! Very cool!
Now that Purdue ( my alma mater) is out, I am rooting for MSU! Would be nice to see a Big 10 team win!

I remember when he was at UMass.
The price of glue sticks and paperclips went up at the student store.
That's obscene-It's time for a presidential inquiry.

NCAA Women's Basketball Champs - UCONN
I love stats, and these are exceptional -
1. This is UCONN's 6th National Championship - all since 1995; all coached by Geno.
2. They went 39-0 for the season - every victory was by double digits.
3. They trailed only ONCE the entire season - by a single possession, in the 2nd half of a game against Notre Dame.
