Today is Visa's day one of her heat cycle! Finally the breeding I've been planning for years now is actually going to happen! The vet just called, we're doing our first round of progesterone testing on Tuesday. The frozen semen has already been imported to Canada and is waiting for us, 5 hours away. I'm terrified and excited at the same time! Wish us luck!!

Best of luck! I hope Visa has a beautiful, healthy, BIG(ger) litter. ; D

Now, first and foremost... where's the Visa pictures? I miss seeing that beautiful girl.

Thanks everyone! Here are some pictures of her, and one of the daddy. :) The first is from a camping trip last year, her outside the motorhome. The next is her sleeping after a trip to the dog park. The other two are camping pictures again, and the last is the sire of the litter, Cory.

It's very unlikely we'll get tervs, but it would be nice! There is one terv female 6 generations behind Cory, and so some of Cory's close relatives managed to surprisingly produce tervs after all of that time, when some accidental inbreeding occured. But that same terv is another 9 generations behind Visa. Neither one of Visa's parents produced tervs (and her mother was bred to a terv carrier so it's highly unlikely she carried it) and Cory never produced tervs when bred to known terv carriers. So, I doubt we'll get any! It would be neat though.

Looks like another breeder is interested! I'm excited, if these homes work out (and if I do drop a male on Ashley's doorstep which I fully intend on doing :p), that would make a total of 5 show/working/sporting homes! Visa will be on her way to her ROM title for sure! Apparently an owner of a (I think?) half sibling of Visa (not sure, through someone else) might be interested as well, I just have to wait for them to contact me. So that might be nice, I guess they really liked Visa's sire and want something related to him again.

Progesterone tests tomorrow!! Visa and I will both be mommies soon!!

The progesterose test was this morning! The swab indicated that she isn't ready (still in proestrus), but the blood test will give us a better idea of where we're at. The results will be in tomorrow. We're redoing it on Thursday. Hopefully it will be the last time, these things are not cheap!!
Visa was awesome at the vet, was friendly to everyone, didn't even blink for her blood test, and only looked a little bit violated when the cotton swab was shoved up there. ;)
