My husband has not been feeling too well the last few days, and on and off for a while,he has been having like a burning sensation in his head, headaches, and fatigued and loosing weight, my hubby is 6ft 1inch tall and only weighs 63 kgs,(about 138 pounds)(9stone 9)which is very underweight for his height, a month ago he was 66,when we changed his diet because his cholestroel was high, the weight fell off him, he was only 75 kgs at the most, he has never been fat, also his blood pressure was good and all his blood tests great about six or so months ago.

Now is blood pressure is low, at 90/70.,and he gets a bit dizzy when standing because of it, usually it is of no big concern, but with the other factors going on and him just feeling off colour , it is a bit of a worry and as the doctor said, warning bells are ringing.

He is having 16 blood tests done on wed, so when we get the results we might have a better picture of what is going on.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, that it is nothing to worry about and he will be fine, i am thinking positive. thank you.

Gosh, I certainly hope everything will be alright with your husband. I'll add you both to my prayer list. Do let us know what happens with the blood test!

I hope it's nothing serious. Tell him to drink lots of water, eat healthy, get some exercise (half an hours walk a day, at least) and not to stress about anything.

Carole, I'm sending positive thoughts to your husband, and to you! :)

Thank you all so much for the positive thoughts and prayers, means so much to me, i got his blood pressure wrong way around, i seem to be doing that lately lol, it was 90/70, i wish it were just the heat, but i really do not think so, it is not that hot at the moment,he does eat healthy, i make sure of it, as i do,but he does not exercise at all, been trying to get him to do that, and is not in an active type job, so needs to really, he is having daily headaches, i was thinking it might be stress, although he says work is fine, and he is not stressed, we always have to worry a bit about money, but then who doesn't ? sometimes you can be stressed and dont even know it.

I don't think he eats enough, he eats well, but for a man probably not enough, i can match him no problem at all, and oh yes i can give him some of my weight too, wish i could, i am on WWatchers at the moment, and i am trying to feed him up, it is hard,me decreasing my food intake and him increasing, but i am really strong right now and doing well,so gotta do what you gotta do eh?

Anyhow getting bloods done today, so we shall have to wait about another week, i know he thinks it is something bad, and i am worried it might be,the doctor was a bit blunt really, saying it could be a brain tumour or cancer, which does not really help matters, and saying it rings warning bells, considering his age 51 etc,i guess he was just preparing us, but usually they are not quite that forward about it,it did not frighten me because i had already done my research, but i am sure it did not help Steve really.

I hope i can come back next week with positive news, keeping my fingers and paws all crossed here too.

My sister goes to her specialist today as well to see what surgery she needs for her oestoarthritis, so i am concerned for her too,it always happens together doesn't it?

I wish doctors would stop putting fear into our heads!!! When my son caught that virus last year that partially paralyzed him for 3 weeks, one of the doctors scared the daylights out of him, telling him that it could possibly be Lou Gehrig's disease. It wasn't but that dr. caused us many unnecessary sleepless nights. I do understand that doctors probably feel that they need to cover all the bases, perhaps for insurance purposes, perhaps not, but if they don't know what's wrong w/someone, I wish they would just SHUT UP until they do know. I'm sorry that the dr. said that to your husband. To tell you to put it out of your mind is probably pointless because it's now the "elephant in the room". However, please do your best to remain positive and try not to let fear creep in. Fear in itself can be devastating. Prayers are continuing for your husband and you, Carole.

Why are you channelling my mom?:D

That sentence MUST be written somewhere in the MOM HANDBOOK.

She would tell me that very same line all the time!

No worries, everything will work out!:D

Ain't that the truth Mary, you know i was so suprised when he came out with all those things, usually the Dr's here are really cagey, i end up asking them you don't think it is this or that, but he just came out with it,I already had done my research, so i was not shocked by what he said, but it did not help my husbands state of mind, you know he jokingly said a while back, think i must have a brain tumour, because of the burning in his head, i so hope he is wrong.

I am thinking positive, trying my hardest to do that, and i know it could be other things, so i am not thinking the worst, but i can see hubby is looking depressed now, i know having daily headaches is the pitts ,been there, and when there was a big break up in his family over his mothers death, long story, not going there, he suffered terrible stress and had daily headaches and lost weight, but i cannot think of anything that would be stressing him out to that degree.

Just have to wait and see, thanks for you support, yeah Richard my hubby is a bit like your mother in that respect, won't admit to it i think.

I hope he's okay.

Andy suffers from a similar issue. He's 6 foot tall and currently around 128 pounds. He's always had a hard time putting on and keeping on weight.

I also think he should eat more but asides from sitting on him and forcing it down his throat, there isn't much I can do. :\

Kimmy - maybe try some bodybuilder protein shakes - not the heavy major stuff, but something that will taste awesome and help out.

Carole - even if it is the WORST result - medicine has come such a long way. Prayers that it isn't the worst, and something very treatable.

HUGS and prayers!

Thank you all, it really helps just to share my thoughts, his bloods were excellent six months ago, he could not have been healthier, i even posted about it, i was so happy, i am holding on to that thought, i know a lot can change in that time, but i am thinking positive, that it is indeed something very fixable.

We do have protein powder (to make shakes) and Ensure in the house. He drinks them occassionally.

He said he felt better today and no headache, that sounds promising, i am hoping it was just some horrible virus or something, time will tell i guess.
