LOL,
I finally bought a scale and one of the first things I did was step on and pick up the Edster.

He weighed in at a svelte 15 pounds, I fell asleep this morning at 4 a.m. and woke up at 7:30 with him still on my chest, so, he's not THAT FAT!

OUT YOUR KITTY,

I am curious!:D

Morgan was 18.25 the last time he was weighed at the vet's office. He had been over 19 at one point. I have trouble getting an accurate measurement with my home scale.

Are you trying to get the FurKid to 'stand quietly' on the scale whilst
waiting for the reading to settle?

:p

Prolly not gonna happen in this Century!
Here's the 'trick' to a reasonably accurate home scale weigh-in.

* Grab da Kat, Dawg, Hamster or what-have-you and hold him/her tightly
* Hop on the scale whilst HOLDING the FurKid
* Record your combined weights - YOU + the FurKid
* Release the FurKid ... Zooooooom
* Step back on the scale and record YOUR weight without the FurKid

Do the math ...

Take the Combined Hoomin + FurKid weight (the BIGGER number)
and SUBTRACT (-) the Hoomin alone weight (the smaller number)

The RESULT is the weight of the FurKid

:D

LOL I understand that concept although I usually get my weight alone first. I don't know if it is because the furkid is so big and I have trouble seeing over him to the weight, but my scale always gives the difference as much more than what the vet has. Morgan spent years on Science Diet Light cat food because we were trying to regulate his weight gain. He gained every single trip to the vet but it was never as much as I anticipated because of weighing him at home. I know that I must have a problem with the process because sometimes it varies a pound or more on different days. While I may gain or lose a pound over a day or two, the difference in my weight and his shouldn't vary like that.

Pretty Miss Cali weighs in at 7 lbs, Mr Diego is 8 lbs. Not bad for yearlings.

Taz is going to the vet on Tuesday so I'll get a current accurate weight then. But last time I weighed him he was about 11lbs. At his heaviest he weighed in at 21 1/2 lbs. That was over 6 years ago.
I weighed Paizly about a week ago and she was just over 6lbs. My home scale only weighs in half pounds and she registered at 6.5.

Eve is a petite 8.5 lbs:D that's a real improvement from the barely 7 lbs she weighed in at when she first arrived. She has just turned 6 years old. Our little kit is a very spunky girl - it's all muscle;)

Gabe was always happy to sit on the scale. He was an odd kitty, but oh so sweet. I have SO many photos of him.

Wouldn't it be nice if all kittys would cooperate like this?

Whoa! Hobbie is coming in at 22.5lbs and he's been on a diet!
Calvin is 10.5 lbs. They are littermates! We might have to enroll in "the Biggest Loser"!

I love Gabe sitting on the scales.
Tigris is 13 lb, Filou is 2900 g- that's over 6 lb but not as much as 7.

Pretty Pinot tips in at 11 lbs - not bad for one who was 5lbs and very ill last March!

This (http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=12678161) guy is at the shelter I volunteer at and he tips the scales over 26 lbs!! I saw him the other day and I just wanted to get in his condo with him and cuddle up on his bed beside him. I  large cats. While I realize it is not healthy, especially in Horace's case, I still love them. :D
Unfortunately, due to the fact that my zoo is full AND that Horace Silver must be an only cat I cannot snatch him up and bring him home with me. :(

Yes, that's really good! :) I love the name Pinot, by the way...it's my favorite wine! ;)

Phinehas is a pretty "heavy" oriental at 13 lbs. I believe Malachi is around 5 or 6 lbs. I'll know for sure when I take him for his neuter surgery!

Thank you, wolflady, we're fond of the name, as well as the wine, too. Her middle name is Noir - her daddy sometimes calls her "little Miss Noir". :)

26 lb's not bad, our BART is 26. The only problem is that our buts don't fit my chair very well. If you throw in Mits at 17, Peak at 15, Princess at 15 and Chessie at 18 you have a full bed.

Oh my goodness!! I think I'd love to come to your house. It sounds like you've got a house full of big kitties!! :D :D

Theres a great book, a funny one by Harriette Hahn called James the Connasieur Cat where hes too haevy to fit in his travel bag, and has to go on a diet!!
Theres a scene where he watches them have his favorite treats , and has to say no with tears in his eyes.
Quite a funny book and its a shame that only two were ever written:(

My orange tabby, MacGyver, is a slim, trim, 7.5 lbs. His stepbrother, Ming, on the other hand, has to be the world's largest Siamese. He tips the scales at 17 lbs! Must be all the love and care at my house.

What I like is, ROZ (7 months 5.5 lb) aka the terror, chases Bart (26lb) or Mits (17lb). She is equal opportunity chaser.
I think Bart’s paws are bigger then Roz.
