There is a move on to share Canada's musical culture with the incoming president:

CBC Radio 2 invites Canadians to help select the top “49 songs from north of the 49th parallel” that would best define our country to the incoming U.S. President Barack Obama.

Voting ends at 8:00 Eastern time tonight.. so go to http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/obamasplaylist/ and get your votes in!

(I also posted this info in the "Will You Be Watching" thread in Dog House, but here it is again for those who don't go there.)

I listen to CBC Radio quite a lot, because there really IS so much good music coming out of Canada!

A few artists I'd like him to put in his iPod...

The Guess Who
BTO
The Barenaked Ladies
Alanis Morissette
Corey Hart
k.d. lang
Shania Twain

But I also want his Chicago / Land of Lincoln heritage on the playlist too ...

Survivor
REO Speedwagon
Cheap Trick
Five Stairsteps
The Buckinghams
American Breed
New Colony Six
The Cryan Shames
The Ides of March

And the amazing Chicago Symphony Orchestra :)
