For his teeth as hes stopped eating even when I blend his Cat Food with the a blender and he wont even eat Tuna or Salmon.Or Kippers which he loves!!!
Thank God for Aunt Janice:cool: as he will lap the soup :love:and nibble at the crab meat.
Hes been in several times but nothing seems to work, and hes so hard to medicate. I am not cheap , but this is getting over the two thousand dollar area, and its so frustrating that nothing works.
Please pray again for JJJ3 .
I wonder if removing his back teeth would help.
But he only 9 pounds now and frail :love:
My Dear Old Best Friend :love:now 16 , I pray that you can get back to your old form one day.:love:

Gary, I guess I've been fortunate w/the Fur Posse when it comes to their dental health. It seems so many kitties are having problems w/their teeth nowadays. Prayers are going up for J3 right now so that all will be well quickly, easily and in peace. :)

Poor Joseph. I am praying and keeping my fingers crossed that they can help those pesky teeth that keep you in pain. Henry had a sore mouth too and is barely eating, they are such a problem. I hope you can have an operation to fix it once and for all. I'm thinking of you Joseph.

I've dealt with the hyperthroid, and given the medicine for that. I gave it by pill though.

I will say that the cat that was on the medicine, once he was out of the shelter (he was a shelter cat), was here in my home and was given good foood and got his thyroid under control, the dosage of the medicine went DOWN. It was 2xs a day, to 1x a day to a very small portion of the pill 1x a day.

Hopefully your guys will feel better, and get the thyroid under control and then they won't need to get 2 doses a day.

I'm not sure how the rub on cream works... I used the pills. Mac was very easy to pill, and I think I took this for granted, because I now have some cats that are impossible to pill! Figures!

We had a cat at our shelter who got methemazole for his thyroid. It was quite easy to apply. You put a small measured bit on your finger wearing a finger cot, then rubbed the inside of his ear with it. It's like you are giving him a nice little ear-rub.

Glad to read that all is under control, Gary. What is the depo for? My Creamsicle gets a depo shot on occasion for allergies. Hopefully, things will level out soon for your boys.

THE DEPO IS FOR JJJ3S KIDNEYS, WHICH SHOW SOME DETERIORATION, DUE TO HIS AGE.
I AM GOING TO ASK THE ANIMAL WELFARE LADIES TO HELP AS PUTTING A NEEDLE IN THE LEG OF A PANICED CAT IS NOT GOING TO BE EASY , ESPECIALLY IF YOU DONT WANT TO HIT A MUSCLE!!

THE EAR CREAMS EASY SO FAR.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET SOME OF THAT ON MY FINGERS , IS IT DANGEROUS?

Gary, as I understood it, if the methimazole gets on your finger it will be absorbed through your skin and I guess go to your thyroid. I don't know how dangerous that might be or even IF it's dangerous, but that was why we were told to use the finger cots.

Did the vet give you some of those? Or, why don't you just check this out with him and see what he says about it.
