Jenn, I do not own a Japanese Spitz or know anyone who does. I do know that they are rare breeds. They are small and white. These dogs aren't AKC recognized, but are registered with the JKC (Japanese Kennel Club). Here are a few links on the breed:

Hi!

I used to have japanese spitz. They are generally very very very playful and they really like lots of attention from their human friends. They are also very friendly to humans. They may be loud at times but it depends on you to show them who's boss :D They also like you to cuddle them. Mine likes to chase balls a lot too. ;)

Crunchy here (the one in the middle of my sig; u can also see her fr. my avatar) is half japanese spitz and half pomeranian, though she looks more like a japanese spitz w/ the coloring of a pomeranian. :D :D :D

No, but I heard that they are so smart. I watched a show about them not too long ago on a learning channel.

We used to have a Japanese Spitz a.k.a. American Eskimo, but we had to put her to sleep, she had cancer. Her name was Nikita.

i have had a lot of japanese spitz. they are very common in my country. But they all have different characters!
