Lhasa Apso rescue in FL?

A coworker recently found a female Lhasa Apso in her neighborhood (actually she found them). She has posted flyers in the neighborhood, gone door to door. She has called several vet clinics, the newspaper and also gone to the SPCA to scan for a chip. No one has come forward, and unfortunately my coworker can't keep her but doesn't want to send her to the SPCA or shelter (there are a lot of kill shelters around here) and was asking if I could help her find a Lhasa Apso rescue group around us.

We are north of Clearwater, FL.

Details: small female, no microchip, housebroken. The SPCA determined she is intact. She is a lover, quiet.

Edit: My coworker was walking the dog last night and her owner found them. "Daisy" is now with her owner :)
