I haven't been on here in ages - well, two months anyway. I just thought I'd pop in, say hi, and give you all an update on how the critters were doing as well as provide some pictures.

I can't remember if I posted on here or not, but we had a scare with Blackie (almost 13 year old Lab) a couple of months back. He had a seizure (we think his arthritis meds triggered it) and we weren't sure if he was going to make it. He's doing fine now, if a bit unsteady on his feet. He's going blind and deaf and he may or may not have cancer. Time will tell. He definitally has a mass on his liver that is displacing his stomach. He's starting to loose fur around his left eye for some unknown reason as well. He looks like he's had a really rough life - lumps all over him, fur missing around his eye, some healing scars on his ears and head from where he got into a fight with something. Poor boy.

Rose is the same as ever, although now that winter has set in and the dogs are now inside (after five years of me nagging at my parents, the dogs are finally sleeping inside! :D ) she has become a priss and doesn't want to have anything to do with cold or wet weather. lol

Chloe is doing amazing. We had some food scrounging moments with all of the holiday hustle and bustle (she ate an entire platter of deviled eggs and also managed to eat a hershey kiss tinfoil and all), but she's not going at it with the same enthusiasm anymore.
We haven't had any resource gaurding issues in a long while (knock on wood - but look in the first picture...there is both a bone and a sock on the floor...and she isn't guarding either!!!!!!) and she's gotten MUCH better out in public around strange dogs. She no longer growls when we walk by them - she just growls when they sniff noses. However, she always wants to say high (nicely) to the puppies she sees and is perfectally fine when introduced to dogs on our property even if she is on a leash.
A while back she was starting to concern me again because it seemed like she had started to place guard, but it turns outs she just doesn't want to be bugged when she is sleeping. If nobody tries to pet her when she is zonked out, all is well.
She's been so good these past couple of days it is almost scary - not jumping on the guests, telling me when she needs to go outside, riding calmly in the car, not getting into anything (well, except for the food), not chasing the cat, giving up items when asked, ignoring other dogs in at Petsmart, not bouncing off the walls because she isn't being walked, listening and obeying when I tell her to do something, letting me groom her with no fuss...WHOOHOOO! I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

All of the other critters are doing great and are getting into trouble as always! The most recent interesting episode was when my ferrets took the lid off of my sister's fish tank, pulled out all of the plants, and proceeded to try to catch the betta. LOL Here are the two culprits themselves (although they weren't caught red handed, unfortunatly...that would have been too funny! And the betta is fine, in case you were wondering, but is now no longer in our room).
