Hey there!!

I have a prayer request for my co-worker Kimmy and the baby eggs that she had implanted in her uterus last Monday. She finds out for sure if they "took" this Friday with a blood test. (She cannot take a regular "at home" pregnancy test because of the hormone injections she's taking - aparently they'll result in a false positive. )

Anyway, they don't really have anything medically wrong with either of them (them being Kim and her hubby), they just haven't been able to concieve. So, they decided to try this route. She's been taking hormones and other fertility medications for about a month and she had her eggs extracted about a week and a half ago. The little eggs were fertilized and then last Monday (the 15th??) her doctor implanted 2 fertilized eggs into her. :) :) :) She had to go home and be on 'couch rest' for the rest of Monday and all day Tuesday. At work on Wednesday, we didn't let her do anything that required lifting more than a coffee cup (which she is not allowed either - no coffee).

She finds out Friday via blood work, but I don't know how soon she'll get the results. Bloodwork takes a little bit for results, I just hope they have some way of getting them in quicker than most tests. Most bloodwork can take at least a day...or a few hours. But then, this IS a fertility specialist, purhaps she'll have an onsite lab for such purposes.

Anyway, Kim is going to call us if the news is good. She's been very, very positive about this. She'll say things like, "WHEN the test is positive, I'll tell people." or "I'll be pregnant this time next week - with TWINS!". So that's really good. Her doctor doesn't see any reason both these eggs wouldn't take.

She wants to have two children. So she figures why not do it all at once? She knows it'll be twice (or three times?) the work - but how cute to have TWINS??? So fun!!

Anyway, when we were leaving today to go home for the holidays (we're off work from tomorrow to January 4th), everyone was asking if they could call her on Friday. How horrible would it be to have 10 women calling her with excited voices asking when the babies were due?!? So, this seems like it was the first time she's had some negative feelings and was real quiet the rest of the day. :( Poor thing. :(

Anyway, long story...sorry about that. Could you all pray that she and her hubby are blessed with at least one baby? That would be so great for her and hubby - they would be so happy. I think this has been a long road for her.

Thanks so much, guys. I'll update you whenever I hear anything.

 Hugs & Love,
Kelly :)

Her eldest daughter's name is Faith!

How beautiful, I've always loved that name.

Kimmy and I were talking the other day and she said that if the baby (or babies) were girls, she was thinking of the name, Faith. Neat, huh?

Thanks for the prayers, everyone. I know God listens to us.

Hugs,
Kelly :)

P.S. As SOON as I know anything, I'll update - even if its through another PTer (if I cannot get online).
