Prayers for Squeekers please??? Sad Update post 12.

My old kitty Squeekers, whom my father adopted when I moved out 4 1/2 years ago, is in need of prayers. He was diagnosed with Hypoadrenocorticism (Addison's Disease). It is a very rare endocrine disease.

My father is very upset, as he BEGGED me for this kitty, and he is the ONLY person Squeeks likes. Squeeks has always hated me, even when I bottle fed him and stayed up with him for 5 weeks:p BUT I have always loved him.

He is REALLY sick, not eating, drinking, or using the pan, and is very lethargic and out of it. He is overnight at the vets, on iv fluids. I pray that he makes it, it would absolutely crush my dad if he dies.

I know I have asked for alot lately, but may I have a few prayers for Squeekers? He could really use them:(

This is just heartbreaking, but I thought I should post and let my friends know..

Squeekers had to be PTS this morning. Overnight, he could not breathe on his own, so X rays were taken. It turns out he did NOT have addisons, he had a genetic lung cancer. There was no choice, as he had to be put on oxygen. My parents went up to the vet, and after hearing the news, and that the treatment was easily 5,000 dollars, and he still would only have maybe 3-4 months, they had to let him go. He was so young, and they wanted to try treatment, but the vet advised against it. She said she personally did not think it would work, and that he was in such pain.

My father is COMPLETELY devasted, as you can imagine. Please pray that Squeeks had a easy trip to the bridge, and knows it was done with love.
And for my father, who I have never EVER heard this upset...



Squeeks, I am so sorry. I am sorry I was not there, and I am sorry that the last time I loved on you it was to clip your nails. I had to though, because you kept beating up your fursibs. I loved you first:( RIP Squeeky boy, come visit Dad and let him know you are still kneading on his ankles, and doing your nightly turns in circles on YOUR bed. I brought you a bed early this morning for when you came home, I still hope that you will use it, it was just for you:(

I called my dad tonight, but he couldnt talk about it. He is really taking this hard.

It is ALWAYS harder when it is so sudden, and they are so young. I feel so bad for him.:(

Forgot to add: Dad said that he brought the carrier to pick him up, he did not know before going that Squeeks condition had changed, so he went with all intentions of picking him up.. Anyways, he said that Squeekers could not breathe, and was trying to get up and get in the carrier, he really just wanted to go home. That was heartbreaking to hear. Dad could not even hold him, because his lungs were so filled with fluid that if held, he would choke. Dad just held his head and talked to him until he went to sleep. I hope it was not painful, the injection I mean...:(
