I don't know if the same applies in US and Canada - but now that I finally have two batches of double-cardboard-boxed vinyl records (with a bit of newsprint and bubble wrap put in), the Fedex lady was honest about stating her concern that Fedex (and others - Greyhound, UPS, Purolator, and the Post Office) would have these records in an unheated area and they would shatter very easily, no matter how well they are packed.

I am going to try Kijiji and Craigslist again for people driving there who won't charge an arm and a leg.

They don't have to be there for Christmas. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

When I worked for PolyGram Records in Montreal (back in my distant past lol) we shipped vinyl records all over the world wrapped as you have said and I never heard of any of them suffering damage from extreme cold . They travelled by truck , air and sea in cardboard cartons and bubble wrap. The extreme heat was much more a concern than cold .
Best of luck , Catty!
