Can these photos be adjusted?

A friend took these pictures for me at the dog park. Does anyone have a photo program that can even out (or eliminate) the shadows on their little faces? Thanks in advance if anyone has the ability to do this.

I like the pictures the way they are, personally ... the dappled sunlight and shadow is interesting.

That looks much better, thank you Randi. It's not that I don't like the originals exactly, it's just that Kodi has such a cute little face, I was hoping someone could get it to show up a little better. :) Thanks, again.
