http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/fritzysnooze.JPGFritz snoozing on the blanket this morning.the Memorial service the funeral home put on was very good.they had few pastors from different churches including our one from the Catholic church around the block sang,was very good,our Reverend LaFave told 3 funny stories,got people smiling and laughing.People went up tp get Butterflies,not real ones which were on a twig,Mom got some for Dad,Larry went up to get one for his Mom Mom who passed away about 8 years ago.I did cry a little knew I would a little not so bad as last year when I had to go up to get a candle.Fritz was on the bed while we were away,then greeted us at the door.He went up when we did,wasn't long after going up he went to Mom after finishing his supper.Cuddled with Mom this morning,then was on the couch ,now in the window,Mom went to the shopping center Marlene,she had to get nails done.

Barry, it's lovely that your church has a service to honor all the beloved family members that have gone to the bridge. I love that idea. It's really special and a great thing to do to make the families feel like they're remembering and paying tribute to their lost family members. :)

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/snowyfritz.JPGFritz last night at 25 after 7 standing on the back step in the snow.It started around 5 and was still snowing some after 10 when Fritz had to go out on last time before,bed,had a run around the gazebo before coming in.Fritz had another run around out there this morning,he just loves running in the snow.We were down her a little earlier Saturday,Mom wanted to read the paper down here,had to get Fritz some cheese.then begged for water and some bones did the same thing a little while later while sitting on the back of the chair.Last night Mom said something about going to bed,Fritz knew what Mom said and got down off the chair and went up with us.He went to the window,we went to bed,he started growling,so had to get cheese again and put him to be with Mom.He just had toast and cereal when I came in from doing snow half an hour ago.Today,a big day at church,Reverend Lafave Baptizes his Granddaughter Cailyn,we will sing some carols before the service,he will tell the Mitten tree story,we will put Mittens on it for kids who need them and to bring a can of food.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/coolwalk.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/lappysit.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozyleg.JPGFritz outside for a cool stroll before supper,Fritz sitting right up om Mom's lap looking at me and head on my leg this morning in the chair.For supper,we started with Cauliflower soup she bought on an outing with Marlene yesterday,also some Apple Cinnamon Bread.from what I found out from Marlene Mom may have had a dizzy spell reached out to Marlene,she seems fine now,never told me,I will keep an eye out on her,talked with Larry and Marlene,she was a little concerned.Mom did have a fall outside last week,tripped on the outside leash,may have had something to do with it,but she was fine after that.We also had Quiche with Egg and Broccoli, and I finished Chicken Strips from Tuesday night.Fritz had a little of each,Fritz finished his supper before bed.Had some of the bread later,it was good,so did fritz,fritz begged for water,and sat up on couch for some bones and was out a few times and on Mom's lap.Mom and I went to bed,fritz was in the window then heard him at the back door,he needed out,was out for 5 minutes,cold doesn't bother him.he went and slept with Mom and at 10 after 2 jumped into bed with me,comes right to me and looks at me as if was going to kiss me and he went to bed.Found this morning he peed against a chair in the dining room,not happy with that.Did not have breakfast,was with me on the chair head on my leg,then he moved to the couch,Mom stomped on the floor and I went up and Fritz was on his back al fours up on the couch,still htere now,not like that now.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozycovers1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozycovers2.JPGFritz keeping cozy and warm in mom's bed this morning,cold here this morning 13 degrees,tomorrow 41 and showers,rain Monday and 46.Fritz begged to go out then he begged for water by wagging his tail on the coffee table.He then was on the couch and the chair begging,he wanted to go to bed and it wasn't 9 p.m. yet.He came out when I turned the computer off,went outside then to the window and then he ran down to the bedroom and kept Mom warm right at her back most of the night.He was with Mom in the chair,still there.Taffy coming to visit Marlene and Larry have family thing to go to at Larry's sisters in Trenton,Ontario.A former neighbor of Larry's dad died in a house fire in Washago,Ontario two days ago.She was 82,she used an Oxygen tank for breathing and had a walker,it blew yup,husband got out,house was destroyed.She was the one who first saw the fire,yelled to her husband who was getting dinner ready and he got out,she with a walker didn't make it.

Great pictures of Fritz and Mom. Barry, I hope she's ok and doesn't have any more dizzy spells. My mother recently fell and it wasn't good. She's ok now. I hope your Mom doesn't ever fall. I'll pray for her.

What a tragic story about the house fire. Did the oxygen get ignited by a flame? Prayers for them too.:(

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/highsit.JPGFritz on the back of the chair just before going up to bed.He went with Mom and at 20 after 1 needed out so Mom put him out.He came to me and slept with me for the night.Taffy stayed here yesterday,was pretty good except left a wet spot on the carpet down here Mom was not happy about,didn't tell my sister.She in most of the chairs down here,Fritz would smell where she had been when she move .he didn't bother her too much,tried to get her to play.otherwise he they got along.We had Pancakes for super Fritz had some,the had some Bacon treats and bones ,were Taffy's treats,Fritz some,she had cleaned his dish of food out and drank his water.Later on,Fritz wanted more treats,he sat and begged, I asked him do want a treat and I was spelling treat,did that 2 or three times,he tilted his head,he knew what I was asking,he is pretty smart,seems to to know how to spell.the lady that died in fire Thursday smoked,that could have started it though haven't heard officially Fire Marshall's office will be investigating the cause most likely.

A little dark and gray here this morning,rain,snow almost gone,supposed go down to 32 this afternoon,a little snow on Wednesday,Friday and Sunday.It might be Thursday or Friday that the Aunties are coming.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/flipperfritz.JPGFritz Monday afternoon flipped over on the couch.I had fried Potatoes and Ribs for supper,Mom had gone to a friends for lunch,so wasn't hungry.After supper Fritz finished his.Last night ,begged for water and Iams bones,sits up on the couch for bones.Stayed on the back of the chair and stared at Mom,didn't go under the couch.had Egg nog bread,Fritz had a little.He slept with Mom,no trouble,has cereal from me and toast from,was afraid of the dish again.Jason e-mailed me last night.Rand Lauren have been asking every day are they going yet?.They leave on Thursday at 2 in the morning,it is a 4-5 hour flight to Mexico.He closes the shop for the week of the 22nd-26th, his employees wanted that.They come back on December 26th.the want to get together with us after this,will have a lot to talk about when they get back.Getting 2-4 inches of snow overnight into tomorrow,either flurries on Friday or a big storm 6-8 inches,more on Sunday.No snow here right now,had rain Sunday and Monday ,was 45 to start yesterday,this morning,it was 22 when I got up windy and cold.

He squirming going down the stairs,put him down once were were down there,tail was still going.We got get anywhere friom 2 to 10 inches staring around 7 tomorrow morning,til 6 in the evening.Two forecasters said 6 inches,sounds better that 10,Sunday,two to four inches,better than the eight they were saying yesterday and light snow Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday of next week,will have a White Christmas for sure here in Southern Ontario.Saw on the news today Las Vegas got snow yesterday,first in 30 years.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/groomysnooze.JPGFritz snoozing next to me in the chair this morning.He slept a lot last night,was tired out from his day at the groomers.Slept near the pillow all night on Mom's bed.He was with me in the chair for a while now in Mom's Mom gone to get hair done .The snow has started here,in the 15 or 20 minutes,maybe 6 to 8 inches by the time it is done by 6 this evening.Another 4-6 on Sunday maybe 2 more on Tuesday and Wednesday.lots of School bus cancellations and School closings here and all over the province,this was the last day before the Christmas holidays.Jason and Shannon's and their kids got out yesterday before this storm hit,right now at Pearson International Airport ,visibility is almost zero with a few flight cancellations.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/fritzyfours.JPGFritz all fours up on my bed this morning.he came and slept with me for the second straight night.He sleeps at the end of the bed most of the time then this morning curled up to me and flipped over on his back.We go another 4 inches of snow overnight,seems to coming to an end,sun is starting to peek through.Fritz was out in it this morning,didn't go too far and his fur was wet from the snow.He crawled up next to me in the chair for a bit then I went out and did the driveway and sidewalk.Mom went to church this morning with Marlene in Larry's four wheel drive truck and they are picking up Mom's friend Florence and going on from there.Shannon phoned last night from Mexico,Brandyn was on there ,spoke Spanish.Weather is good around 83 yesterday.Brian has tripped and fell there,,no major problems but his sister's husband has had stomach problems probably due to the water down there and is in bed.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozyleg1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/toydog1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/toydog2.JPGFritz with head on my leg this morning and in the window with his new toy.Mom had put it there.Last night he went to bed and he trouble getting up there so Mom called me to give Fritz a boost,did and found out why,he his new toy with him,he brought it to bed,has never done that before.I don't how long he slept with it as he ended up next to Mom most of the night.After breakfast,had a little play with it and tired him out.Cuddled up with Mom on the couch.She had to to the grocery store,he stayed there,i had a Hot Dog for lunch,he had some.He ate a little of his own for supper,we had Rice and chicken Strips tonight,he had a little,had Christmas pudding for dessert,too mucky for him to eat.After supper,he brought his Monkey down,asked him where is his new toy?he was up and down a few times,now back upstairs.Supposed to get 4 inches of snow by tomorrow before it changes to rain with a brief period of freezing rain and a high of 43,partly cloudy and 34 on Christmas Day.My Grandmother(Dad's Mother) was born on this day in 1899,passed away on March 1,1985 at the age of 85,miss her too,I was a pallbearer that day,there was no burial that day,ground was frozen and there was a snowstorm that day we had to travel,25-30 miles on the 401,Larry drove with his out the window to see.I was to try for driver's licence that day,didn't get it done that day,got it 8 days later.The day I first tried,I drove on the 401,had a driving school instructor with me,quite a drive.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozypal.JPGFritz this morning having a cozy snooze.Last night,started off in the window,was growling and barking at something outside,nothing was there,so I picked him up and put him on Mom's bed.Then between 2:30 and three he got out of bed,Mom followed,wasn't chasing him so left him and he ended jumping up on my bed at 5 to 3 and had a good sleep,I had a hard time getting back to sleep,but did eventually.I think we got 5 or 6 inches of snow,My Uncle helped out in blowing with the snowblower.As we were doing it,it was raining,36 degrees.Cleaned off the catch basins water could get it in.Gloves got soaked so Mom gave me a pair that was a Christmas present,also some warm thermal socks.Get the rest tomorrow.Go to Marlene's ,open gifts then go back later for supper.Go to church tonight for a Christmas Pageant,the Reverend's 3 month old Granddaughter,Cailyn Brooke will play the Baby Jesus.At 11 this evening is the Candlelight service if I can stay awake for it.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hotfella.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/newstuffy1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/newstuffy2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/antlerdog1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/antlerdog2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hotfellabeg.JPG Six of 12 pictures I took of Fritz and Taffy yesterday.Fritz in front of the fireplace panting,Fritz with his talking Monkey that Marlene got him,he got it talk when we came home after gift opening,was waiting for it to talk but he got it talking on his own,Taffy wandering around with Antlers on,pretending to be a Reindeer,antlers kept sliding to the side,she had a swollen spot under her eye and had to to the vets this week,has gone down somewhat,Fritz begging for a treat.It all stared Wednesday night with the Christmas pageant.the reverend's son and his wife played mary and Joseph,their little girl Caillynn Brooke played the Baby Jesus,she was quiet for this performance but the night before she cried the whole time in front of Senior citizens,also sang a few carols.We took Mom's sister along.We dropped her off,let Fritz out then we went up to Marlene's for a hour and a half then back home for a half hour then went and picked up my sister to go to the candlelight service.Sang more Carols,the church organist's daughter sang O,Holy Night,she was good,we lit the candles until all were lit.We were supposed to a prayer before we left,the Reverend forgot.on Christmas,Fritz got some Jerky treats,I got a new pair of gloves,thermal socks,a red sweatshirt, and a dress shirt for church.Around 10,we went up to my sisters.Fritz got more treats and the new Monkey Stuffy,he had fun with that,Mom got a new jacket,a wrist watch and a necklace,I got Kodak Digital photo Frame that I am still trying to figure out,a new wallet with the Maple Leafs logo on it,a Benchmark Safecut knife that open plastic covered packages easily and a hockey called the Complete Hockey Dictionary.For lunch,it was Quiche Lorraine,We stayed for 2 0or three hours ,I was trying to figure out the photo frame,Fritz playing with the Monkey,Mom talked to Irene,they are fine,she also talked to a friend who has been in a nursing home.Around 3:30,went back up for supper at 5,Larry's brother Frank was there too,both he and Larry are in bad need of losing weight,Frank is over 300 pounds,Larry said he was 284 and gets short of breath shoveling snow.For supper,it was Turkey,Dressing,Coleslaw,Carrots Sweet Potatoes and Mashed Potatoes,Turnip,Pickles,Beets,Olives and Buns.Dessert was Cherry Chesecake that Mom made,Fritz cleaned my first plate then dessert,Taffy had hers after we all ate.After suppers,Rick and Cheryl,their friends from the cottage came came with their Golden Retriever Murphy who started looking for treats as soon ans he got there.He got a new stuffy and was quite proud of it,wagging his big tail.Fritz was Larry's lap a couple of times,gave him kisses and licks,got on Cheryl's lap also,then Mom's.He behaved pretty well,he one small accident ,otherwise was a good dog.Fritz first slept with Mom,then at 5 to 2 this morning,came to me,I think it would have been he slept the whole time in one bed,not two.Fritz has been taking it easy today resting,having leftovers from last night that Marlene sent home and Cherry Cheesecake.the little boxes in front of the fireplace had candles in them.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideyunder.JPGFritz hiding under the dining room table this morning.I found out he was a bad boy last night,let a boo-boo on the mat near the front door and this is where he went.he has had all kinds of plays with all his toys,last night,played with old monkey then got up and layed on my lap then partly on the arm of the chair,had his head resting on it.I once was rubbing his chin,he wanted it done,stopped he looked at me wanted more rubbing.He ended up under the couch and came up and went to the window when we went up to bed.After a few minutes ,went and got up on Mom's bed,slept the whole night there..Spent time with mom in her chair and in the window,went to the bedroom when we went to church.He is now back in the window,had Cauliflower soup for ,lunch,Fritz stayed in the bedroom for that.yesterday my Cousin Sharon and friend Norm stopped in,Marlene came down to see them.they had been at the family farm,her brother Brian owns that but lives in Mississauga,Ontario,a trucking company.they were going to stay until Sunday,my Cousin Brian drinks a bit much,so they left early,his wife,his fourth had invited Sharon and Norm down.Brian has Aortic Aneurysm,needs a operation,it is on January 16,a week after one of his kids from a previous marriage is being married.Cooled off here,very windy,been a wind warning,was in the low 40's yesterday and almost 50 this morning.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/newyearnap.JPGFritz having his first nap on the new year on my knee this morning.We went to Boston Pizza,had Pizza,Mom brought home Fritz some Ham and put it in his food and he ate that.We went to see Marley And me for 6:50 last night,it was very good,all the mischief Marley got into was funny,of course in the end it got sad when he had to be put down and it reminded me of what Dad went through in putting Ruffles down in April of 2002 and I shed a few tears .Mom talking with the Aunties now,may be coming this weekend not sure,have to find out.We managed to see the new year in,Mom had a short 30 minute nap down here,Fritz was under the couch,came out at midnight.He went to bed with her was buried in a throw blanket next to her and had a hard time getting out of it this morning,he is now snoozing on the couch upstairs.Really cold here this morning,barely above 1 degree fahrenheit.They never said anything about coming this week,maybe next week the Aunties will come.

Barry, I was watching the Blackhawks' game this afternoon at Wrigley Field and wishing I had you to explain to me what was going on! It was very strange to see them playing hockey on the infield! They even had a ceremonial first puck like they do a first pitch at Cubs games. It was windy but no snow today, so a good day for outdoor hockey this year.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/kneesnoozer.JPGFritz this morning,snoozing on my knee.Had freezing rain her last night so didn't go to the game,Mom didn't want to go and take me,our patio and driveway were slippery with it today s put some salt on it.Fritz begged for his water and treats,sat on the back of the chair staring at Mom,one time he went out and came back,went to Mom and was on her lap then after a bit,under the couch.He decided to sleep with me,right up tight most of the time.this morning,he was begging to have my cereal and toast,didn't want Mom's until he had mine.I think he is either in the window or in one of the chairs.Mom has a funeral to go today,lady at church passed away,she was 90,Taffy is coming here later,there is a visitation in Burlington,Ontario for Larry's Aunt Marg who passed away on Saturday,she was 80,she had different bouts with cancer,funeral is tomorrow,Mom may go with them and Taffy would be here again.

I really feel for you people, Barry. I don't know how you endure all the snow and cold weather. Every time I hear about it, it makes me thankful I live in Florida. We had some rain this morning and a cold front came through. I think it's going to the forties tonight. That's cold for us. It's been really warm for about a week.

Fritz, I'm glad you're behaving yourself. Taffy probably feels a little lonesome for her family so she p'd in the floor. I'm sure you'll set a good example and she'll be a good girl today. You look so cute in your snoozing photos.:D

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/nappyfritzy.JPGFritz this morning in the window.He went to bed with Mom but jumped up on my bed at 12:30 this morning.Everything was fine until 5 when he started rooting around the bed,finally at 5:30 I was going to pick him up to take him out,he took off to the living,got him some meat then got him out.He came in and had a drink of water.He got in the window then jumped with me in the chair,then cuddled in beside ,I then went and got dressed,I had just got breakfast,he needed out again after having a drink.After he came in ,he went back to bed,probably with Mom,after getting me up early,he can get back to sleep,I can't.Right now is most likely in Mom's bedroom on the bed,she went to the hairdressers.Cold here this morning 9 degrees,chance of a little snow tomorrow,maybe a inch.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/curlyunder.JPGFritz with his head curled under a pillow on Mom's bed this morning.Slept there all night ,no problems.He misses me when I go to the hockey games like last night,he got up on the back of the chair down here and waited and was up in the window when Mom brought me home.I had a lucky night the team didn't they lost 6-3,I won another free pizza and drink from Boston Pizza and won the 50/50 which was $94.50,Mom was happy when I told her.The last time I won was back on November 23rd won $72 the score was 6-3 that day but that time the Eagles won unlike last night.Fritz had his cereal and toast,been out came in and had a play with the talking Monkey,flipped over on his back playing,He was cuddled next to me in the chair,scratched his chin a few times,stop then he look at me,wanted more scratching.Now either in Mom's chair or the window.Cold this morning,5 degrees,tomorrow 30 degrees and 2 inches of snow,Wednesday going down to a high of 3 degrees with a low of -4,Thursday 0 degrees and a low of -8.

I can't blame you , Fritz, for staying warm in that cozy bed. It's a little chilly here and I didn't want to get up this morning.:) Stay warm, cutie pie, it's pretty darn cold there. It's a good thing you have that fluffy winter coat but I worry about that cute belly getting a chill.:)

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/monkeyjump.JPG http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v334/fritz26/flapping.jpgFritz after supper yesterday with his Monkey in his mouth,ears flapping climbing up the chair,reminded me of the picture below this called "flapping" which I took on October 12 of 2006 at 8:03 p.m.We had peameal Bacon,Scalloped potatoes and turnip for supper ,Fritz had some,we had Custard for dessert,he had that then finished his own supper.he got under the couch down here around 5 or so and there for 2 hours or more,came out for a bone and some water,went out,was with Mon and back under the couch.When Mom says it time for bed,he gets out from the couch and come sup,goes out first then to the window,went to Mom and had a good sleep,his was right near Mom's.I thought he hadn't come out yet so checked ,he wasn't there ,went to the back door,he was waiting to go out,didn't her him.He then had cereal and toast,was with me in the chair,and with Mom.He was snoozing on her bed when she went to do Meals On Wheels,I did our snow,and went and did Marlene's,1 inch or so,is 35 degrees now, going down to 0 degrees tonight,high of 9 tomorrow and a low close to 0,Thursday high of 0 and a low of -9,Friday 14 degrees and a low of -11.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/monkeywalk.JPGFritz on the coffee table after supper Monday,he had me playing with him when he wasn't carting it up and down the stairs.I was out shoveling on the patio and he wants out,he got me to play with him he get into play mode and take off off around the patio,stop wait for me to move and off he go again.Last night spent time with mom in her chair,under the couch and on the big one.When it came bed time ,he went to my chair in the living room then came to mom a few minutes later,right tight against her.Mom had to get up to use the washroom early in the morning,he was hogging her side of the bed.Had toast and cereal from me,was out when i had shovel a bit of snow.We watched Obama being sworn in,it will be great to see how good a job he will do.George Bush Senior didn't look god,reminded Mom and me of what dad was like with ALS.Obama's first trip outside of the U.S. will be to Canada to visit with our Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Well Fritz, it sure continues to be cold there doesn't it? So cold the house is creaking. Oh my goodness. Daisy and Delilah like to bark at everything that moves. If a leaf blows, they think it might be a cat in the yard. We do have alot of cats passing through and they can't stand it. I feel like getting a kitty so they can see the kitties are okay.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/kneesnoozy.JPGFritz snoozing on my knee this morning.Snowfall warning here,possibly 8 to 10 inches by 7 tonight ,falling at a rate of an inch an hour,so we ended up canceling Fritz's grooming appointment until 10:30 tomorrow.He went to the window before bed,we don't when he came to Mom as we were both sound asleep,Mom saw him here at 3 this morning.At 5,he stood and shook himself and looked at Mom with his dark brown eyes,went back to sleep.He cuddled with me this morning after being out,he gets covered in snow,Mom uses some paper towels to dry him,then he wants the paper towels got Mom a little wet after shaking himself.,he has been on the couch with her all morning except for having lunch with some cooked meat and a couple of cookies.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/flipfritzy.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/headtucky.JPGFritz flipped over on the couch Wednesday afternoon and later his head tucked in to Mom keeping warm last night.Had a play with his talking Monkey and the old one.We had Pancakes for supper,he had his own,Beneful,tasted like Chicken and had Maple Syrup poured on it and he had all that.Last night,begged for Iams bones and water,slept under thr blanket of the couch and under the couch and with Mom in the chair.He begged me to go to bed,went after Mom talked with Marlene on the phone.Went to the living room and and was in the chair not too long before he came to Mom and slept with her.I had Pancakes this morning,he had a bite of it,I helped my Uncle with snow,we then took Fritz to the groomers,carried him in,tail started going as we went in and down the stairs stasted squirming ad when we got in there dogs were barking and the assistant took him and he was smelling to see if the cats were around they were there.When we went to get him carried him out,his groomer said he didn't like her to touch his hips said they may be arthritic not the way i see him play all the time.he rod in the back seat for the ride home, then curled up in the kitchen ,has a rust colored bandana on.We had Chicken strips and Lemon Rice for supper,Fritz had a little,had cake with Vanilla Icing ,he had some has been outside where it is blowing and a few flurries around,doesn't know when to quit,We got maybe 6 -7 inches of snow,getting to the point of where are you going to put it,Mom hasn't seen snowbanks this high in a long time.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/washyup.JPGFritz cleaning his paws after waking up this morning.Last night,raised a paw for water,had Iams bones.slept under the blanket of the small couch then under the couch.We had Raisin bread as a snack,he had a little.Cuddled with Mom some down here.As soon as I turned the computer off,he popped out from under the couch and was ready to go up.He first went out then went and was in Mom's chair then had some food of his and he went downstairs don't why,Mom then brought him to bed.He had cereal and toast,picks toast off the plate and goes to the middle of the living room to eat it.With the cereal,he stands as far as he can from the tray where the cereal is on bowl is on.Had a play with some of his toys then was on Mom's lap,now in Mom's chair,Mom making soup.Cold here right now 3 degrees when I got up,high of around 18 today,warming up to 34 and flurries tomorrow,no major snowfalls in the near future,that is good news,hard to find anywhere to put it,need a little thaw in the worst way.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/lappals.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cushysnooze.JPGFritz on Mom's lap this morning and by himself snoozing in her chair.Yesterday ,they called for flurries,ended up with 3 inches in the afternoon and at least 2 more during the night,was out before 6 shoveling last night and was out this morning shoveling again.I also dug snow away from the patio fence,there was a pile as high as the fence,afraid of fence breaking.I stayed home from church to do this ,also shoveled from the snowbank at the end of the driveway about 6 feet high,still have to do the north side and also uncover the catch basins.We had Big Macs and fries for supper,Fritz had some Fries,had is supper just before bed.To prevent this from happening today,told him to eat his before supper today,he did and got some Chicken Strips and Rice a and Butterscotch Pie for dessert.He had a good sleep, too tired to eat this morning,was on Mom's be between the pillows while I was outside.After supper,had a play with his Monkey tried hiding it down here,then was under the coffee table wagging his tail wanted water so got a dish of water,had a bone ,now under the little couch,head poking out.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/blueyrest.JPGFritz resting in the chair with the blue blanket on it this morning.He came up when we went to bed after the Super Bowl,he went to the window,not sure when he came but went and slept with Mom.he had the one pillow turned sideways on the bed and was laying next to it.he was in the chair this morning when i came out after 7 this morning.he gave a little yip ,he wanted me to hold the cereal dish in front of him so did that and the same with the toast,got up and had Mom's toast.he was on Mom's bed when we went out,had to drop off a roof rake that takes snow off roofs to Larry's neighbor then went and got gas for the van and the snow blower,went to the Mall,Mom got the Toronto Star,I got chips,I checked a Pet store for March's Issue of Dog Fancy magazine still had February's so maybe in 3 or 4 weeks it will be in.Fritz had some of my sandwich with me,just barked at the mailman and is in the window now.Nice and sunny here for a change around 37 degrees today,tomorrow 25 degrees and Wednesday 9 degrees,2 to 4 inches of snow for Saturday.

Really great pictures, Barry. It sounds like things are a little tense around there with Taffy visiting. I hope things go better soon. It looks like you're both trying to enjoy the situation as much as possible.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/gazeyfella.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/restygirl.JPGFritz in the window this morning looking at me,Taffy on my bed after waking up,this us where she went,she goes there and bites,thinking we won't know,I did,go her to stop.Had Chicken Strips and Rice for supper,Fritz had some.Mom wnet to gift shop,Fritz was first in the window then to Mom's bedroom,Taffy was here with me to start then up on the couch.They both came down here after Mom came home, were quiet each had a Iams bone gave Fritz water ,had to hold the dish,in case Taffy got to it.She slept on the couch again,Fritz was first with me on the bedspread then to Mom and at 25 to 3 this morning cane back and slept on the bed with me facing the dresser,Taffy stayed put no wandering that I know of.Fritz had his cereal and toast,he barked at kids going to school.,a man wearing a orange safety vest then the paper came and barked up a storm,think he is now in the window or with Mom,Taffy on the couch.Had a few flurries,is 36 right now ,changing to a rain/snow mix early this afternoon and then straight rain after and flurries this evening.Plane leaves down ther around 10:35 in the morning tomorrow,arriving in Toronto at 1:50 so maybe home after 5 tomorrow night as of 8 this morning it was 64 ,going to 72 and 82 tomorrow when they come home.My team here is out of the playoffs,beat 4-0,so that's it for hockey heer until September,will save money from my grass cutting for a season pass for next season.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/pokerhead3.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/taffyflip1.JPGFritz poking his head out the back of the small couch and just seconds later Taffy flipped over on the couch just before 10 when we went up to bed.Fritz first came to me and slept,couldn't get comfy so went to Mom and cuddle in front of a pillow,Taffy was on the couch.Once after this ,Taffy wandering around panting,Mom got up and gave her water.Around 25 to 2 Fritz came back and slept with me,then Taffy was on the wander panting so I got up and got her water and everything was quiet the rest of the night.In the morning she does the same thing wanders and pants,scratches also,we squirt water from a bottle,she doesn't seem to get the message that this means to quit scratching.Got a little snow last night,was hard to shove,it was mixed with freezing rain and the snow was coming off in chunks when I was shoveling.Fritz had some of my cereal and toast,then Salmon sandwich at lunch,Cleaned snow off the patio and deck at Larry's.A neighbor had done the front sidewalk and driveway.they left down there about 10 minutes late at 10:45 this morning,Flight arriving in Nassau was late leaving Toronto arrived at 10,they are due to arrive at 2:05 this afternoon.it was 75 degrees when they left,in Toronto,maybe 20 degrees .and windy.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/toypals.JPGFritz after supper Sunday afternoon on the chair with his Monkey.Twice yesterday brought it down here to play with me,then he carts it back upstairs.We had a Hot Chicken sandwich for supper.Mom had cooked a chicken breast,put some in between two pieces of bread and pour gravy over it,it was good,Fritz had some,had a little of his own before, but wanted this as it had meat.Tomorrow is Pancake Tuesday,Shrove Tuesday is the official name and we are having Pancakes for supper.Last night ,he had the Monkey down here wasn't playing with it,I put it on the coffee table,he starts growling a bit and got on the coffee table,was barking and growling,knocking it off,he didn't want to share the table with it,got a kick out of that.We had some tarts as Raisin a snack,he had some from us,had his water,he won't drink from the dish unless i hold it,won't touch if it is by itself,has done this ever since Taffy was here for the week.He slept with Mom,then woke up at quarter to 6 barking at the back door,he needed out then took him back to bed and at 10 to 7 was at the door again to go out,praised him for being a good boy and asking to go out.He then had toast and cereal from me,cuddled with me in the chair then the window.The Police K9 unit was around today,they were training a dog to find people.First the K9 van came and a officer took off down the street and he hid somewhere,then another truck come with the dog and its handler,to track it ,he followed the route the officer had taken and i assumed he found him,Fritz didn't like the dog or the police around,he barked at them,also at kids wearing backpacks and lady pushing a stroller.Fritz stayed down here with me when Mom was cleaning out under the sink,i helped a little with that and then cleaned the kitchen floor,he would be in the way up there.Marlene is going to call the vets and get some cream for where Taffy was scratching herself.

I loved the story about the K-9 unit coming out. That's so cool. What a great community you live in there in Bowmanville. Too bad Fritz didn't like them but I can imagine he wouldn't.
Poor Taffy. My daughter's dog has alot of itching problems too. He has been on steroids a few times because it was so bad. Does Marlene put a little olive oil in her food? My daughter found out that it was mostly stress with her dog. He has seperation anxiety so bad, he itched like crazy when she was gone. Now, he's alot better because she's able to spend more time with him, they moved out of Florida(dogs get hotspots, etc. here alot), and, he loves her roommate that takes care of him while she's gone. He's hardly stressed much anymore.
I hope Taffy gets some relief soon because it's diffcult for Taffy and everybody else.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cuddlynwarm.JPGFritz cuddly and warm to day in Mom's chair.As usual now,he wants his dish held while drinking,he cuddled with Mom last night then under the couch and hand was part way out,ready to go up to bed when the TV and computer went off.He went right to bed after going out,right up to Mom.Kept mom warm in her chair,then went to mine when I got up to come down here.He has just been outside again,doesn't stay out long, was 9 degrees when I last checked.Lately in Toronto,they have had a problem with Coyotes,they jump fences and grab cats and dogs,on the weekend,one jumped a fence and grabbed a 6 year old female Chihuahua Zoe and made off with it.They been spotted all over the Toronto area,even on a busy highway,needless to say dogs and cats and even kids will stay in the house now.

Taffy kissed Fritz,had the camera,but it didn't last long for me to get it,Taffy wanted Marlene to pet her,Fritz come so over too and he is right there tail going I think he was trying to give Taffy a kiss.fritz was tired after all this,snoozed down here,went to bed with Mom and stayed there,was in my chair before I sat down,hardly room for me to eat breakfast,put the dishes down,he tail starts going,he wants to lick the bowl so he did that and he the toast too,.Mom had just got on the couch,he came over and was beside here snoozing.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/momssocks1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/momssocks2.JPGFritz this morning with a pair of Mom's socks as a pillow under the dining room table.Mom had left then where he could get them.Mom was on the phone and he grabbed them,now in Mom's bedroom on the end of the bed,Mom gone to get hair done,then later going to World Day of Prayer at a church here in town.Yesterday,Fritz grabbed a pair of my jogging pants and carted them under the table.By the time Mom told me this he had left them there and was in the window,would have made a great picture and would have been funny to see him carting them off.We had a Hot meat sandwich for supper yesterday,think it was Pork,put it between two pieces of bread and pour gravy on it ,it was good,too messy for Fritz,he had some Broccoli Salad and some Angle Food Cake.Had a little of his supper then and later before bed.He also had 2 or 3 Iams bone,had some Raisin bread,had some water,went out and slept under the couch.He came up shortly after we did,has been a little slow coming out of there lately,not in a hurry to go up.The Aunties phoned yesterday,Irene has gained 8 pounds, but Bev still not feeling right still feeling tired and cold so going to the Doctor next week to check things out.Today's high to be 61,a record,previous record for this date was 59 set in 1974.Earlier in the week he grabbed a coaster from a table and went there and chewed an end of it off before I gave him some Bologna to get it back.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/toybuddy.JPGFritz last night on the back of the chair with his Monkey.He begged me to play with it,barked also,had a Iams bone dropped it on the floor,barked for me to pick it up,sat up on the back of the chair ,he wanted out,tail went for some water sat it on the coffee table and he also begged for food food last night, didn't have his supper earlier.He was with Mom in the chair then under the couch.He went up and he was in my chair for a few minutes before coming to bed,he had been barking at people going by around 10 0'clock.he had his head under the pillow this morning when I saw him,he then came out and went under the table,he usually goes out first,i tried getting him out ,but he wants to play and ends up under the table..I finally got him out when he went to the window.We went to the shopping center ,was on Mom's bed.Had some raisin Buns for lunch,he had a little having a Pizza Mom bought at he grocery store.We are all down here now,Fritz in my chair,Mom going to read the paper.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/buddies1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/buddies2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/buddies3.JPGFritz after supper Monday with his Monkey down here with me in the chair,in the first one he is yawning,he had a play with the Monkey and was carting it around,he even came into the bathroom where I was shaving wanting to play.We had Lasagna for supper,he had some,had some of his own,finished before going to bed.he spent time on my lap yesterday then under the couch,begged for bone sand water,after being under the couch he was on Mom's lap until be time.We had Raisin Buns for a snack,he had a little.he goes to the window first then tom Mom,around quarter to three he stood up and looked at Mom as if to say are you alright.He gets as tight as he can get to her,probably ended up with his head under the pillow again.Around the same time,she swore she heard he garage door go up,it was too early for me to go out with the garbage,she said shew wasn't dreaming so it is a mystery as to why she thinks she heard it go up.Fritz decides to play when he gets up,I try to put him out ,he runs under the table.He would then start begging and tail going ,wanted the cereal dish to start,wasn't close enough,moved it closer that was fine and then was right under he was growling and tail going,this time for Mom's toast so slid that under and he had that,.he as out once , grabbed him out of the window,then not long after out again,had a run around the living room and he is quiet up there somewhere.This afternoon,evening and overnight into morning rain maybe a half inch to a inch then getting windy tomorrow and high going down from 50 to around 32.

I just can't stop laughing at those pictures. Daisy and Delilah go under the covers at night to go to sleep. They sleep all night that way. Fritz, you have decided that you just need to put your head under the pillow to block the light. Such a clever boy. I would think it's too hot to be covered up all night.

D and D got some Beggin Strips today when I went to the store. I got them some dried sweet potatoes the other day and they can't chew them. Be a good boy, Fritz and have a good Friday!!!:)

You find so many places to hide, Fritz. What a picture of you peeking out of the couch!! So funny! I'm so sorry to hear you hurt yourself, buddy. Delilah was limping a little this morning. She had an injured knee about two months ago. The vet says she's ok now. It was really hard to keep her quiet and making her not jump down too much. Barry; I have steps up to everything in the house except for the lower furniture. Daisy can't jump high anyway so I make Delilah use the steps now so she won't have so much trouble. Maybe you could put a little stool up to the bed for Fritz to jump on and it will be easier. I've used regular dog steps, a low ottoman, and, a low patio stool for them. Anything will work as long as he isn't afraid to jump on it. A cardboard box won't work because it's too flimsy but I have used a box with a lid, filled with things to weight it down. I put a rug on top of it so they wouldn't slide when jumping on it. Fritz will be a happy boy when he can jump easily.:)

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/shuttyeye1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/shuttyeye2.JPGFritz having a little shuttyeye this morning on Mom's bed.We had Ham Steak,Turnip and Potatoes for supper,he got a little in his dish and left his own food and had some of ours,he also had a bit of Ice Cream.he was begging again for those treats which are now gone,gave him Iams bones,didn't want that,that's all there is we tell him.Had his water,follows me to the gate when I get it and follows me back,Sometime he teases me I think he has to go out,he runs back in.He did go out in the end and went to Mom in her chair then under the couch.This morning was going to sit with me while i had breakfast, no room then to Mom and he curled up there ,tucking his head in and then went to his "hole" behind the couch.Now up in the living room somewhere snoozing,still have to give him a brushing today.19 degrees this morning, high today 32,tomorrow 36,Wednesday and Thursday mid40's,Friday 50 and partly cloudy and showers, showers on the weekend also,maybe a rain/snow mix on Sunday.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideynappy1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideynappy2.JPGFritz this morning sticking his head through the back of the couch this morning.He went straight there after getting up,he then he got up with Mom across her lap.He is there now ,Mom going to wash the kitchen floor and bathroom,having ladies for cards tomorrow night,I do the vacuuming tomorrow.He begged again for those treats,there weren't any,he ended up wagging his tail for water.he was under the couch two different times,he had to go out then he went to Mom and then back under.He went to me to start on the bedspread then to Mom head under the pillow,the comforter also.Apparently it is the radio station that has to call first then he has ten minutes to call,they didn't there is till the end of this week and then it goes into April sometime.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/dayflipper1.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/dayflipper2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/cozybuddy.JPGFritz Tuesday afternoon flipped over on Mom's bed and this morning Mom took this one of Fritz on my lap.He first went behind the couch to snooze then with me.I then took him out then gave him a brushing and later he was with Mom on the couch next to her.he spent time last night under the blanket of the small couch and under it,had some Hot cross Buns,had his water,went out after teasing me first.had the rest of his supper last night,went to the chair,curtains are closed,he keeps ripping the hem of it when he jumps out of here so keep it closed at night.Finally went to bed with Mom and had a good sleep,Mom saw every hour though.Fritz probably now on Mom's bed.Larry's name wasn't called today in the contest,I have put my name in on it,so will have to listen for that now.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideynappy3.JPGFritz this morning cuddled next to the comforter.He had a good time last night,he stayed with me for a bit then he begged to go up and greet teh ladies,he did tha and his chin rubbed,took him back,he had some snoozes out in the bar room.He begged again so put him out side ,snoozed again .Fritz was begging again so he went up and saw the ladies again,had a run around the living room and he grabbed some coasters,one under the dining room table, and one of the ladies shoes he had there also,had to get a bit of cheese to get it.Before they left he had another blitz around the living room,he finished his supper,we went to bed around 11:30 and he slept to around 9 this morning then behind the couch for an hour or so.he had a nap on Mom's knee.i had a Apricot Jam sandwich,he come down for that and he went back up to Mom.Having Grilled Cheese sandwiches for supper.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/peekyout3.JPGFritz last night peeking out at me from under the blanket of the small couch.He did that for a few minutes,could tell he was warm as he was panting,didn't seem to bother him.He was up on the back of the chair begging for treats,didn't want Iams bones,all the others are all gone and we won't get them as he will constantly beg for them and won't leave you alone.He got barking upstairs last night wanted the drapes open ,wouldn't open them,went out twice to him and gave him a little cheese and took him to bed.he got up at some point and left two deposits again,one in the bathroom and one in the living ,don't know why he didn't bark to go out.He was in front of the pillow sleeping this morning and he came out and went behind the couch,Mom told him he was bad,probably knew it too.Today it has been two years since Dad passed away,Mom got some Yellow Roses,may got to the cemetery to put them at Dad's headstone.She has put a verse in the paper too.Still miss Dad a lot.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/tuckyin2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideydog1.JPGFritz right under the pillow this morning and and in his "hole" behind the couch head poking through the back.I had a TV dinner of Turkey,Dressing, Peas ,Potatoes and Cranberry dessert as Mom was at a dinner at church.After this .Mom had gift shop,Fritz was on her bed and he came to greet her.He sat and got some Lays chips from me last night,a after this was done had a snooze under the little couch.He went to the living and was in the chair then came to Mom and slept all night,he came out and looked at us this morning before going behind the couch,he came out to go outside not long ago,either in the window now oe on Mom's bed,mom gone shopping for groceries,going to the shopping center later and were having Fish and Chips for supper.For Earth Hour,we will turn everything off but the TV and close the shutters down here.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideydog2.JPG http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/6/1/1133242/hideydog3.JPGFritz hiding again this morning,snoozing in his "hole" behind the couch.Had the Fish and Chips ,it was good.We shut the lights off for Earth Hour,Fritz didn't know what to make of it ,the lights being off.We had some tiny battery power candles,he grabbed a piece of the plastic and had it under the couch,he wouldn't give it up,he growled,got cheese and got it,he was still growling.he was happy the lights came back on,he wanted to go to bed.He first went to the window then to Mom and was sleeping in front of the pillow,he comes out this morning and goes behind the couch,came out the side,was biting,Mom went to get him he turned around and is still there.He hasn't been out,it is pouring rain,glad I raked the lawn yesterday.

Awwww.....You're always hiding lately aren't you Fritzie? You've turned into a Secret Agent Man. We see you. Peek a boo. I can't believe I forgot to turn more lights off last night. I keep it pretty dark in here anyway. I'm a stickler for energy conservation. I read yesterday that many huge places were going to go dark. Broadway in New York City, Las Vegas. That must have been amazing to see all that neon go out for the first time.
