Andy update! UPDATE POST 36!!!!

Andy had his bandage removed yesterday, and his ear looks WONDERFUL. No bleeding, but it still looks raw/meaty. He does not act like he is in any pain.

He is still being a very sweet boy, purring and begging for belly pets. He had some special treats, and is enjoying napping on my bed with the "special blanket"!

This is a wonderful update! I am so happy for you and Andy. You must be breathing a huge sigh of relief right about now. It's pretty much over now. All up hill from here. :D :D

Well, goodness! If the fur grows back, it will look like just a smaller ear.

Is he still on pain meds? I guess he will be for a while. I hope his liver levels improve soon. :love:

Candace, yes, those airplane ears wont EVER be unworkable, unless of course he has the whole ear removed:p:rolleyes:

No, his last day of pain meds were yesterday. Since his liver levels are still high, they dont want to continue any meds that arent absolutely needed. Poor guy, but he really does not seem in pain.

He is on ear ointment, for infection and to keep it moist and not itchy. He really hates that!

He looks great! I didn't realize that he was going to be able to keep so much of his ear, that is awesome! The picture of him with the pain meds kicking in is priceless. He looks pretty loopy! lol The other cats are looking at him as if he is from another planet with that saturn ring around his neck. ;)

Wow, you can hardly tell they removed any of the ear. It looks great! Is that ME giving him the strangest looks in first two pix? LOL

Yup - he sure looks kinda loopy. Glad to see he kept most of is ear. I'm sure when it's healed you'll hardly notice the difference in size.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I have been bad at updating!

Andy is being very "spunky" today! He is even jumping on his cat trees:D And ever since this horrible accident, I have never had such a velcro kitty! He is ALWAYS on top of me, behind me, or hanging from my legs:p Thats my boy!

And he does look cute with his one widdle ear, he thinks it makes him look "studly":rolleyes: I wonder what stories he is telling the other kitties about what happened to him:p



Auntie Mary, that is a room in my bedroom, called a "parents retreat", but since I am only "parent" to kitties and pups, I made it into an area for the kitties... And that is a kitty chaise lounger that I bought that matches my formal living room suite, just did not put it in there, since they hang out in the retreat area more;) *hope that made sense*

Anyways, thank you all again for the continued prayers and well wishes. :love:

Andy went to the vet today, and we found out.....
















He is done with treatment and does NOT have to go back to the vets for his ear again! Just some neosporin on it once a day, and that is it!

It is all over, and now I can get over this whole ordeal, and breathe again. WHEW!

Cindy, I cried too when I left. Such happy tears. Andy was so happy and excited he pooped in his carrier!:p:rolleyes:

Moesha- No, they said they believe that they will return to normal, sometimes it takes longer than others. Since he is eating, peeing, pooping, normal tempature and acting normal, they did not worry too much. Thank God, I really did not have the money to pay it today. I would have had to do a hold check....

He still has hearing loss, but I also think that will go back to normal eventually. He sure bonked his head really hard, so that can cause permanent OR temp. hearing loss. I pray for the latter.;)
