I need to know what will I get if I breed a blk/tan GSD with a bi-colored GSD. The sire is a blk/tan. The bitch is a bi-colored. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/confused.gif In the bithches pedgree she has a lot of white in her dads back ground. Is that good? Will I have a chance of getting some white puppies? Please email me if you know Thanks you.

Hi,
As far as I know white is a recessive gene in the GSD so both parents would have to carry it for any white puppies and the chances are still fairly small. From my limited and fragmented knowledge of genetics my guess is that most, if not all, pups will be black and tan. I will try to find out more for you as I am on rather iffy ground here and would love to hear from a more knowledgeable person.

My male has white in his back ground to but only in his dads side. He has a lot of black and tan in his background and Sable and blk and red. Is that another good % chance that I will have some white pups? Thanks http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
