Do your cats have a cat tree? What kind do you prefer, sisal, wood, all carpet?

We are planning on getting a big, tall one soon and I was wondering if your cats like them.

Thanks :)

I have a medium sized one. It is carpeted, has sisal poles and has about three perches. Even Gabe likes it. They use it to scratch, sleep, sit etc. etc. One of the pictures in my signature shows Miley and Graemer sitting on the top perch. They are usually very heavy, so take a strong man with you to help you carry it. I also have four scratching posts distributed throughout the house - so they have no excuse!:)

My cats only have a wimpy little pedestal (carpet covered) because that's all I can afford right now! But the kitties like it. Someday I hope to invest in a big, fabulous cat tree / kitty condo. Those are way cool. I think Efrat posted not too long ago about her new tree (she has great pics of it, too). I was jealous. ;)

here are my babies on their cat tree. They really love it, it's a little over 5 feet tall and it has three levels. The bottom is sisal and the rest of it is carpet.http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p57e818507b92f188ac4ed6f5532e01a5/fd4e50e6.jpg

They look so relaxed and happy up there! How cute! :D

I do remember Efrat's cat tree...I was jealous too!! :) They are expensive, we have a shorter one, but I know Noel would LOVE to be up high and I know they all would have a ball playing with it...

Cat trees are very expensive, in most cases. Even if i got one, Sally doesn't really like to bother with anything that isn't moving. It would be better for my rabbit! That would actually be kind of cute, to have a bunny tree! :D

My cats love their cat trees. Here are a few of my older pics before I had a digital camera. The quality isn't as good but it shows all three cats enjoying the scratching posts. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid21/pa20befb6e232a538d1c3dd98b5000d66/fdaf77b6.jpg

My cats couldn't care less about their cat tree. It's in the studio, where I'm almost all day. But, instead Eddy sleeps in a basket where I store the things I'm sewing and Rudie never comes upstairs. So, the cattree in empty. It's sissal, wood and carpet. It has a few stores, hanging baskets, boxes and anything else a catheart would love.

we actually have a few cat trees... the last one that margaret
put the link for is expensive, but the reat we have are cheaper and afordable...
This for example:
http://www.entermyworld.com/catslove/miscpv/tkjuly02a.jpg

cost us here about 270$ and it is much cheaper in the USA (it's about 1.90 meters and has to be connected to the wall)

and this:

http://www.entermyworld.com/catslove/miscpv/tmknov401a1x1.jpg

is about 1.2 meters and cost 80$

Also we have this one:

http://www.entermyworld.com/catslove/miscpv/tmfeb02a1x1.jpg

which was about 150$ and is about 1.5meter.

The one they love the best is the new one made from wood and carpet... before we had that they loved the second one I put the best.

Efrat, I must ask...what is that large red, blue and gold tent like thing in the picture? Is that a cat toy? My cats LOVE this little nylon tent that I got them. It is an doll tent - you know, part of the adventure series of the American Doll? They love that silly thing. The sides actually have net windows with a canopy. I would like to get them a bigger tent, and wondered what that was in your picture.

Hi Cataholic ,
The tent in the picture is actually made for kids, but we bought it for the cats...we got it in Ikea, it has a door and a window...lately they don't really use it..

Efrat if I could be reincarnated I would LOVE to come back as one of your cats. They have so many fun things to play with. It looks like they have more toys and stuff then most human kids ever get!

Efrat, you've got to have the most pampered cats.
I wouldn't be surprised if you bought the fish tank just for there amusement. Beautiful, lucky kitties.:)

My cats couldn't care less about their cat tree.

This goes for Edwina too. She had a lovely wood and carpet tree. It sat in front of a upstairs window so she could look down on the yard....Once in a great while she could be bothered to get in it. She felt for window gazing the sill is just fine and she gets a better "up close view." And for playing... isn't that what the lovely green wingback chair in the living room is for??

I gave the tree to my mother-in-law. Her two cats LOVE it!

Efrat...my cats want to come visit!!!!! How big are the actual dimensions? Is IKEA a department type store? Maybe I can get my cats one here! It looks really fun.

IKEA is a store from Sweden with household type things. (There is one here in a Chicago suburb.) Known for good quality without high prices. They also have a catalog...

No I don't have cat tree but I would love to get a cat tower. I think my cats would love a cat condo especially my female cat. She loves to climb and she destroying my mothers shelf by climbing the shelf.

I have six cats and two cat trees. They LIVE on them! The first one I bought out of the back of Cat Fancy magazine direct from the manufacturer. It has 4 levels on it. Including S&H it ws $123. That was about 5 years ago. When I got it, I sprayed catnip on it. The second one I bought at Petco and it was $100. It has 3 levels on it. In my new place, I have one set up in "their" room in front of the window. The taller one is in my bedroom which faces the street, where all the action is. Of course they also have 2 kitty hammocks, a kitty tent (which they're always fighting over who has dibs on it). To say my cats aren't spoiled is an out and out lie!!
