I was bored on Sunday so I decided to kill some time by bathing the cats. I had Cam take pics of the torture sessions...

I started with Beatle. (Please excuse my messy apearance.)

As you can see I had a supervisor.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/2.jpg

First things first... always cut the nails before the cat goes in the tub.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/5.jpg

Next comes the tub. First pour on the soap.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/6.jpg

Then scrub scrub scrub.

It is important to keep one hand on the cat at all times to prevent escapes.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/11.jpg

Beat yowls in protest.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/13.jpg

Once the cat is thoroughly scrubbed it's time to rinse.

That of course is followed by a good towel dry.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/18.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/19.jpg

So full of hate.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/20.jpg

Then I put Beatle in the kennel with a dryer on while I moved on to Flea.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/21.jpg

Flea is a lot better than Beatle for his nails.

He got to go in the crate with Beatle and they both just dryed off for awhile. Then I got Beatle out to finish drying her.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/38.jpg

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/39.jpg

When she was dry she got a thorough brushing and was released to go plot her revenge. ;)
Then it was Flea's turn.

http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee291/Shelteez2/Cats/43.jpg

After he got his brushing he went to join Beatle to see what she had thought of for revenge. I think I will be sleeping with one eye open for the next little while... ;)

WOW, your cats are easy going!! You say "hold them with 1 hand"?? Oh my, I have to use both and ask someone else to risk his life by getting the cat washed:eek::rolleyes:

I was also going to comment on those airpalne ears but smokey the elder beat me to it.

You are one BRAVE Lady! I have never and will never attempt to bathe mine! I would not have any arms left when I got done with the first one. Beatle looks like he is a hudge cat and could have tore you up.. You are BRAVE!!!

It looks like you have done that before and have a great set up for those times so my guess is you have a lot of experience and have done this before, but it is clear to see, they were not happy and I would be scared of the revenge part... I had one that when I treated her for fleas, and turned her loose, she would run streight to my daughters bed and pee all over it..

Flea looks like he tolerated it a lot more than Beatle did.
I've bathed Taz once or twice in his 13 years and that was only because we had a flea infestation in the house. That's not something I'd decide to do on a boring weekend. :p

Well, it was nice to see your kitties anyway. Even if you were "torturing" them. ;)

Oh goodness! Sincere thanks to Cam for snapping such terrific photos!

Prior to getting the dogs,I used to bathe my cats every other month. I have seen each and every one of those expressions on Beat's face! Oh yes, that does bring it all back to me.

I only used the tub a few times, too hard on my knees and back (I think you are younger than me!) I use the kitchen sink, it has the sprayer as well.

Flea does appear to be much more tolerant, glad you have different temperaments to cope with! Thanks for a wonderful photo thread.

Heehee, Beatle is huge. She is 18 pounds. If you had told me 2 and a half years ago that I would be able to bathe her and cut her nails I would have thought you were crazy. When Cam and I first started dating she used to stalk me around his apartment. I left there bleeding many times. Since we moved in together though she has learned to tolerate me quite well. I can do whatever I want to her. :) That was Beatle's 3rd bath and Flea's 2nd.

I will pass on your compliments of the photos to Cam. He told me to make sure he got credit for them... lol ;) I am a groomer and I have a shop in my house. The tub in the pics you saw is a normal tub, but it is raised to chest level, so no stooping over.

Flea is a lot more easy going in general due to his upbringing I think. Beatle led a more sheltered life for the first 2 years of her life... just her and her dad. Flea was brought up with 3 dogs and 1 cat... and many visitors... :D

Yours certainly look like they take bathing better than mine do. I usually get soaked when I bathe mine from them constantly trying to get out and splashing water everywhere. Which reminds me, they are due for a bath sometime soon. lol

Oh Gosh, what a fabulous set of pictures on bathing cats. Very well done Cam. :)

I thought you had to be a groomer with the way you handle your cats so well.

When I had to bath my guys due to fleas, well, lets just say that the whole neighbourhood had to hear them screeching their heads off. I swear you could her them saying, "NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO."

Great job! :D
