AKA the random writings thread :D

I'm not sure if this has been done here before but I thought it might be a good place for people to vent creatively. It really helps me work through my problems and is good therapy. I also enjoy reading what others have come up with, sometimes it gives me a new outlook on things.

Some rules though:

~Be kind *I hope this obvious*
~There is no structure. Write a rhyme, a limrick, a haiku, or even just a sentence...whatever you feel like writing. Topics are open too (so long as it doesn't flame/insult or siriously offend anyone)
~Have fun!

I wrote a couple of things at work tonight...I'm in this mobile writing contest *write stuff on your phone, check out http://www.nanowrimo.org/ its pretty interesting* and Im assembling a collection of poems to submit. These are the first two in the collection.

Centurian

I stand wating
watching for the darkness to consume the light
in the hearts of mortal men
something is in the air this night
something I fear to witness again
again I stand strong against the storm
wishing I could be inside and warm
I am the protector this night
so evil be warnd and take flight
I stand watch so the children can sleep
for I am the first keeper of peace
though I face the peril of the unknown
I will not falter nor stumble
my shoulders will not crumble though
the weight of the world is upon them
I stand watch this night
consumed by a promise I made to society
even though the stare at me
and spit on me in the street
I will never be consumed by defeat
nor malice nor hate
for I am a soldier and a guardian of the light
you can sleep soundly
for I am on watch tonight

Crying Sky

I observe safely behind layers of glass and brick
drip drip drop
Tumbling down bringing new life and washing away the old
Since before the dawn of man the rain has fallen
and instead of bathing in the joy of new life
we tuck behind shelter
afraid of its approach.
I find myself wondering at the cruel irony
Maybe we shouldn't judge God so
