How much does it cost to mail a letter from America to Canada? I want to send a SASE to a penpal.. thanks :)

It looks like if it is just a standard letter it would cost 72 cents. But the prices would vary if it is a larger envelope or if you have something rigid inside (like a picture?).
ETA: Yeah, 92 cents if you are putting something inside the envelope with the letter.

You can't do a SASE. The post office will only accept postage stamps from the originating country. So if you have Canadian stamps, then when the pen pal mails the letter from the US it will be returned to her/him. Sorry to ruin your plan.:(

Oh, don't worry.. I'm picking up some american stamps tonight.. (the added benefits of living by the US/Canada border) I didn't want to indulge too much information but it's for my prison penpal (don't worry.. I'm super careful and have a PO box :)). It's a pretty rewarding experience!
