well..ok she's not mine..I have no idea what her name even is, I have just been calling her "ol Lady". some little girls down my block found her, they knocked on my door asking to borrow a leash so they could walk her around and try to find her owner, I toold her that if she didnt find this pooches owner, to bring her to me and I would do what I could. so I have a big ol Lady in the house, since everything was closed when she was brought to me, I couldnt do much. she is quiet old, grey faced, hardly any teeth left(awful breath) and very arthritic. she is a total doll though, my dogs are already protecting her as one of their own.

That is wonderful that you are taking her in until her owners are found.
I just hope her owners didn't "dispose" of her because she is getting older. :(
I will be hoping her owners are looking for her and they will be reunited soon.

I'm so glad she found you to take care of her.....Old dogs can get so confused, and I'm sure she is feeling comfort knowing she is around someone who cares for her.

She looks so sweet. I'm thinking that she might have wandered off too, I hope her family & you meet up soon. They must be so worried about her. If only she could tell them "hey, I got groomed & massaged, had food and a warm place to sleep, & met some new doggie friends while I waited for you to come find me!" ;)

How nice of you to take her in until you find her home. It has to be nice for her to feel safe instead of wandering around wondering where she is and how she got there. I hate to say it but if you groomed Jack who is 10 and massaged him, he may not want to come home! Well, actually he doesn't care much for being groomed but he does like to be rubbed. But if he was warm, inside and being fed, I am not sure he would be too worried about us finding him.

lol, ol Lady must think she died and went to heaven. any dog that comes to my house, eats what my dogs eat..my dogs eat raw. supper today was bones, she got all exited when she saw me handing them out, and when I gave her one she looked at me like I could not possably be serious, this total look of aw lol, it took a bit of convincing her that the bone was indeed for her and she could enjoy it to her hearts content :p she is a very happy camper right now. I mean she runs off and ends up in a house where she gets grooming, messages, 6 playmates, soft furniture to sleep on, and raw meat for supper lol

hmmmm I am getting worried about the ol lady, she health has gotten progressivly worse since saturday, like on Sat. she was a bit sore and stiff but not THAT bad, and she is been getting more sor and stiff with every passing day, to the point that she will just started hurting so bad she howls in pain. when I gave her some asprin for the pain, she looked at the pills expectantly and took them like she does it on a regular basis. this makes us wonder if she is supposed to be on meds? it would certanly explain her worsening pain. but that then begs the question..if she is indeed on meds then why the heck is her family not tearing it up looking for her?

Have you called all shelters/animal controls/humane societies and rescues in your area? Have you put ads in the paper? Signs up at major stores?

If she gets any worse, I'd take her to the vet. If she really does need medication to control pain and stiffness, it's probably for a reason.

She's gorgeous...

we have reported and posted her all over the place, but no responses and no lost dog reports that come anywhere near her description. most of the naighborhood knows we have her here, so anyone who is out looking and asks if she has been seen could find us in a heartbeat. I dunno, with the previous lost dogs we had had, we always had lots of responses to the ads and shelter reports, but with Lady we have had absolutly nothing.

That is too bad that no owner can be found. I really hope she doesn't get too ill.

I hope her owners come and claim her soon!

lol I am glad I am not loosing it! I specicly avoided mention here what kind of mix I think she is, see what other people thought without being influenced by my guess. I had been thinking Borzoi/Collie mix :p

Yeah, but what are the chances of finding a Borzoi/Collie mix? I don't think Borzoi's are really all that popular and if they are, they aren't being bred to other breeds for the most part! lol
