The latest update is that the vet has not had the opportunity to consult with the heart specialist yet, but Dash is lethargic and not eating. :( The vet hospital does not want to use any medication until they have the specialists' outlook in his case.

Prayers will be welcomed.

Oh the sweet boy. He sure was dealt a lousy hand early in life but just knowing that he could be in your care does my heart good, so I can only imagine that good that it will do his heart.

There's no question about it, Jen. If sweet little Dash has any chance at all, it's with you. Your special brand of TLC will surely bring him around to being a healthy, active and loving little guy! This is the latest update (and an etited first post shows Dash's real photo.

Just spoke with Dr B.
they have not been able to get with Dr M. (heart specialist) yet, on a call about his take on Dash's EKG.
Dash is not eating and is lethargic.

We talked about causes.
Dr B said in kittens oft times you do not detect any heart issuse...
and she is not saying this is his case ....
until they undergo a surgery
some may die during a spayy/neuter do to a weak or damged heart that otherwise could not have have been detected..

but why his heart is in this bad condition when he appears to be a big healthy kittens no one can really say,
but we are hoping Dr M. has some answers, she also said his future is very bleak.

WAH (the vet office that has Dash) does not want to give him any meds until consulting with Dr M. for fearf of making a wrong choice and making his situation worse

Maine Coons are prone to a congenital heart condition...but it usually isn't serious til they are much older than this poor boy.

The test results show arrhythmogenic ventricular cardiomyopathy, but I have a bad feeling he's gone.

My contact person (who always seems to send emails that can be read two ways, so I never really know what she's saying) wrote "the vets all agreed he did not have a chance...
A sentence written in past tense.

Was it a typo error, or her way of saying he died without saying it?? I guess I won't know until tomorrow. :(

Oh how sad. I'm so sorry, Jen. I took an instant liking to the boy. Kitties w/a story such as Dash's touch me because they've been dealt a raw deal from the beginning. RIP, sweet boy and peace to you, Jen.

I'm so sorry. A few years ago I adopted a kitten out to someone, and she died 9 days later from somthing like that. That's so sad when kittens have some kind of trouble like that.
