One SA Oktoberfest?

DONE!

Now I have to go over the rules here at the virtual bar!

There are two rules,

One, You have to check all your worries and fears at the front door and nothing but fun is allowed.

Two, The price of membership is one clean joke of any size or shape.

We meet weekly, starting on Wednesdays, For the people on the other side of the international date line, Greenwich Meridian, and in accordance
to Local PST.:confused::rolleyes:

We have state of the art entertainment and other fun sport bar stuff to do.

We also have a large (the LARGEST in any virtual bar in the world) Giganto Screen TV for NASCAR, NFL and Playoff games!

We are open 24/7 and you do have access to the kitchen and bar should you need it.

Welcome and thank you for your patronage!

David,

A mulled mug o'wine....

No drinking and raking either!

Mulled cider please! Tastes and smells like the heart of autumn - maybe that's just because Grandpa had an orchard - many kinds of apple trees, pear, quince, and we'd spend some afternoons picking the fruit. My favorite tree was the one - maybe the Northern Spy, or the Wolf River tree, don't remember which it was, but it had a low branch that grew funny enough to make a perfect seat on which to relax - until Grandpa caught us and made us pick more fruit!

Also was a black walnut tree, and I was allowed to gather the husks and make ink from them, which was really fun! Black walnuts - by the way - must have been the origin of the phrase "a hard nut to crack." Don't even TRY unless you have a good cast-iron nutcracker, and then the challenge is to crack the shell without smashing the contents. Yummy nuts but a whole lotta work!

I love fall, but I don't like the time change. I hate it when it is already dark at 4:30 pm. It means I have to use the rope to get home.
(only Richard will understand that line:D)

Has anyone ever had ginger beer? Non-alcoholic and yummy.

Oh, and I found a recipe for Staci - wonder if she will try it out? She could make it for her neighbor! (hee hee)

OK, the fee... :)

Snagged this from another BB.

"Cardiologist's Funeral

A Cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral. A huge heart
covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service. Following
the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart
then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever.

At that point, one of the mourners burst into laughter. When all eyes
stared at him, he said, 'I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own
funeral..... ..I'm a Gynecologist. '

The Proctologist fainted "

Puckstop31's joke makes me think of the one scene of the OB/GYN conference in Patch Adams. Suffice it to say, the doorway was very interesting...:p

It got chilly in a hurry! On Sunday it was almost 90 deg F with 75% humidity and I had the AC on. Now it's supposed to get down to the low 40s tonight. I think some hot mulled cider would definitely hit the spot.

Membership fee - one joke coming up:

THE NAGGING WIFE

An elderly man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have your wife shipped back home for $5000, or you can bury her here in the Holy Land for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home.

The undertaker asked, "Why would spend $5000 to ship her home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would only have to spend $150?"

The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance!"

Now I'll place my order:

Warm roasted chestnuts and a cup of eggnog sprinkled with nutmeg.

I know - it sounds more like Christmas - I'm just in fast forward!

We have a lot of people coming and I have a lot to get done still... which is hard because I don't drive so we cant' really get anything done until after Brian is done work. At least my in laws will be here Wednesday night and my MIL is excited to help out so we can get a lot done in those two days.
