View Full Version : What is your favorite PT story or thread?

I've thought about posting this for a few weeks and now with Randi's suggestion in the "bump" thread, I thought it was a good time. Many of you have been around here for years while others of us are newbies. In the time that you've been here on PT, do you have a favorite story or thread that shows the true spirit of pettalkers that you'd like to mention or post a link to so the others of us can read it? I know that I've gone back and read a few. One of the first ones that I can think of was how NoahsMommy was helped (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=131313&highlight=noah) by so many on here. What is your favorite?

I don't think I can pick from all the great threads we have had in the past,
but my very favorite thing is reading a new story every single day on the
POTD, DOTD & COTD. :)

I have a gazillion favorites, but this one:

dare you to click, and not laugh (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=2619)

is one of my favorites. Old, sure. Applicable to this day? Absolutely!

Karen, I'm glad you posted this one. I was just thinking of it this morning when I was on the floor with Zoee and her feet got close to my face. Yup, I too smelled Fritos!! LOL

There are lots of great stories and threads on Pet Talk. But this one (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=68494&highlight=Bowser) always sticks out in my mind. It's long, but such a great, wonderful story. Unfortunately, it's so old the pictures are no longer viewable, sorry. :(

I can't believe that I was just crawling on my hands and knees on the floor - trying to coax Myndi out from under the bed so I could smell her feet!!!! She wasn't buying in to it tho. Sparky was on the bed so I got him okay, but he must think I've really lost it. Frito Feet for sure - but not a real strong smell. I need a vacation!!!!!

I'm sad that the pictures are gone, but I'm enjoying reading the story. I've gotten through 10 of the 40ish pages. It is definitely very heartwarming!

I think someone must have mentioned the fritos thread somewhere before or something because I have read at least part of that one as well.

Keep the links coming!

Also, any thread about "Bassett" in cat health still will always bring a tear to my eye :)

Definitely loved the "Frito Feet" and that was the first one to come to mind. But I would be remiss if I didn't refer to the original "Cinder and Smokey"" thread (haven't gone to get a link). It was wonderful!!!! :)

I simply can't decide on only one, so here are three I really enjoyed! We all had SO much fun! :D

The Cruise Of The Good Ship "Feline Princess"

Lily is ready for the Olympics!! Who wants to join her?

Dear Phred

If anyone wants all the threads that was voted the best, send me a PM. I have all the titles in one doc.

I love any of the happy endings.
Like when a PT pup(or cat!) that had been missing finds their way back home. Seeing an update that one of PT's very own made it back to their owner safe and sound is probably my favorite thing to log-on and see! The first ones that come to mind is Glacier's Delta and Kfamr's Kiara, but I am sure there are many more that I am forgetting at the moment.

I'm just a little bias, since it is the story of how we got our Spotty boy (4 1/2 years ago if you can believe that!).

I love any and all of Phred's stories. The one about him getting Bowser is unforgetable. I also loved the ones with Kiara and Delta returning home.

Another big favorite was the one about Boomer(sirrahmis), Missy's kitty flying in. I've forgotten now where he was flying from but it was great. Can someone else find that one for me and link it? I'll never forget the day that Phred kept us all aware of where Boomer was all the time. It was so exciting!!!

D&D, is this (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=87428&highlight=Boomer) the one you're thinking of?

There are a few other threads, but this is the only one with Phred helping out.

Thanks Cindy. That's part of it. The other one was the continuation of that one. It actually has Boomer on the plane and everyone is fortunate to have Phred tracking it. We checked back all day to see if Boomer had arrived in the USA yet. It seems like it was a mile long but I don't remember.:)

I didn't open the thread, but I am assuming this (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=89212&highlight=help+get+boomer+home) is it. If not, it may be this thread (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=87707&highlight=help+get+boomer+home) you are thinking about. I didn't open either, but from the titles it appears that they may be what you were looking for.

Thanks Joyce. It's the second one. The first one is when Missy, Carol, and Tyler flew in. They're both great threads.
I hope anybody that has time will read them and enjoy them as much as we all did. Thanks again!!

I'll be sure to read them. I'm acquiring quite a list of reading material. I did read about Spot. I remember Phred updating us about Woody's travels as well. I'm looking forward to reading about Boomer. And I still have to finish reading about Bowser.

Hard to tell... I very much enjoyed jonza's thread about our kitties being on a cruise, and the Olympic thread... (too bad that most photos of these threads are gone meanwhile!) and I love all the threads where Pet Talkers joined to help others.

Hands Down...Frito Feet!
I still so vividly remember crouching down in my cubby at work, covering my mouth so my hysterics didn't get me in trouble.

PLUS!!!! That's how I met my friend, Sandra!

Every day I get a dose of Frito Feet when Mz Logan and I cuddle. Paw smack in my face! Yum!

Love Phred's posts, and everyone's pictures. There are oodles of great posts on PT!

I loved so many of these threads mentioned. I really enjoy the picture ones, such as Lily is ready for the Olympics, and Cruise of the Feline Princess. Another picture one that turned out great was Lut's thread asking people to post a baby photo of themselves.

I loved the threads on Wild-hair Willy, particularly his world tour, but again just not the same without the pictures. Are you sure we can't sue Imagestation for what they have done to us??? :p

Another one that sticks out in my mind as a great thread from a somewhat unpromising subject, was How do you boil eggs (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=97778&highlight=eggs)

I have to say that Gretchen's "In Memoriam" in the Dog House is the one I can't get off my mind. It's not a happy thread but one that we can read and realize what's happening to our beloved troops every day. :(

I believe it might be one of the most significant threads posted since I've been a member. I can't thank Gretchen enough for bringing these facts to our attention. Some of the media would rather sweep the sordid details under a rug somewhere. :(

I last heard from her around April or May. I know she was really busy with Quadracats rescue, and I believe she said Scott had lost his job. I hope they're okay. I miss her! :(
