And the only prescription is more crested geckos.

Call the mental institute...
stat!

A soaking rain cancelled our plans to attend the Ren Faire, so instead Andy and I headed over to the Taylor Reptile Show. To look for supplies of course.

We spied this adult tailess gecko that looked like Nimrod's twin. We considered getting him, but when I went to hold him, he spazzed out majorly. Even after a few minutes, he still wouldn't calm down so Andy said, "no way".

Then the vendor brings out this guy and we just fell in love. I pulled him out of the container and he just sat in my hand licking my fingers. Calm as could be. Sucker is stamped on our foreheads. LOL!

So meet "blondie". Can't think of a good name for him yet. He'll be shedding soon, so these pictures don't really show his true colors. I think he'll get darker along the sides.

He's a little boney around the limbs, but we'll fix that up in no time. :D

So ...
Is your 'fever' any better, now?

I'd think by this time Andy would have learned to cary an Ice Pack in
his pocket for these situations.

And just ONE?
Did poor Blondie have to ride home all alone?

:p
:)

Yep, looks like fever to me!;) He's so cute! I've never been a 'reptile' person, just not interested. But when you post pics I can't wait to see your little cuties!:D

He looks SOOOOO skinny - good that he came to a Pet Talk home! For some reason he looks like a Sven to me ...

Thanks!

LOL Phred. :D The fever is better for now. ;) We were only interested in adult geckos (most vendors had tiny babies - they sell faster) and Mr. Spaz and Blondie were the only two. So yep, just one this time. :D

Karen, he is skinny, but his ribs don't show so he's actually in pretty good health. :)

Well, with that title... why not name him Bruce Dickinson?:D

{Welcome to the new short legger!}

Tonya, Andy LOL'd when he read your comment, and went on to tell me that the lead singer of Iron Maiden is also named Bruce Dickinson.

Iron Maiden's lead singer IS Bruce Dickinson, and he's also a airline pilot in the UK. In fact, when going on world tours, he actually pilots the plane that takes the band, crew, and the gear to different countries.....

The new gecko is cool. I like how he's pretty chilled out right now. He might become spazzy like all of our other geckos are when you first grab them, but right now he's calm. He still can't stick to the glass well, so a shed it likely upon him pretty soon.

We also picked up a dual aquarium rack at the reptile show that day, so we'll be putting the hermit crab tank and the snake tank on that one. :)

Well, you have me confused. Is the lead singer to Iron Maiden the same guy Walken was portraying in that SNL skit? Or is there two guys named Bruce Dickinson?

Walken's character is a made up SNL dude. LOL

He's really a looker, his eyes are stunning. They seem very quick to tame, do they like being held? I've been looking into reptiles lately but I cannot find one I like that won't eat bugs and worms and all that gross stuff.

The Crested Geckos can live on a specially formulated Crested Gecko Diet, which is a powder you mix with water to create kind of a pudding for them. They eat it just fine, but they also love crickets. The crickets need to be coated in calcium powder. Calcium is the main thing keeping the Cresteds going, so they need it.

They like to be held, but spaz out at first when you reach in and grab them. Once they're out a little while they calm down.

Yeah, you can feed crested geckos solely on Crested Gecko Diet if you don't want to deal with crickets.

The young ones tend to be more spazzy than the adults. But then I'd spaz too if some huge hand was coming after me. ;)

My two new little ones, I just open the kritter keeper lid and they come out on their own.

I'm not sure if they like to be held, but they tolerate it well. :)
