I went to the Santa Clara Cat Show yesterday. AmberLee and Wolflady were also there. I took quite a few pictures of the cats. Since everyone seems to like pictures, I thought I'd post some of the better ones here. I have 27 pics total so I'll have to put them on a few posts. This first picture is of a cat exercise wheel. They had a video playing with a cat running inside this wheel. I can't picture any of my cats using this. Can you? http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p365921ec8aa4316b625452db95a529a6/fd4c6534.jpg

I think that this cat is a dilute calico Maine Coon. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/pd29f808e14653b961b46fba3d6e7c131/fd4c6533.jpg

This cat looks like a blue aby but I'm not sure. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/pa97ff6dffc8c12abd28ed7aa28014013/fd4c6531.jpg

Here's a calico cat. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/pb0df839f07c23550b796ec9c02aeda41/fd4c652f.jpg

Here's a Sphynx kitten. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p46cec700c6ad3b902662160e837991a2/fd4c652d.jpg

Here's another Maine Coon. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/pd03fe4e9f44178a1357e2b267ba83cb2/fd4c652a.jpg

Here's a Siamese. I'm not sure what kind though. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p59c901ce7a3a7e2a60bdc5af2b440577/fd4c6529.jpg

I think that this is another Maine Coon but I'm not sure. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p3986bd14dee863060365f3630c8bad5a/fd4c6528.jpg

Here's a blue Maine Coon. I think he looks a lot like Storm. Maybe Storm has some Main Coon in him. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p10433fc0193692fcac9ee870ffecc000/fd4c6527.jpg

I'm not sure of this cats breed but it looks a lot like Gabe, Sas's Cat, to me so maybe it's a Ragdoll. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p823cfb307f2183c246c7554a532673b2/fd4c6526.jpg

Here's a spotted Bengal kitten. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p5371c18c3d20691d937ec2d1278f9eb5/fd4c6524.jpg

Here's another Bengal kitten. I think the lady said that she's a Flame Point Spotted Bengal. Her father is a 20lb. spotted Bengal so she may become a large cat. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p3cd8f5cf39466f4d914c13691d27c7bf/fd4c6522.jpg

I'm not sure what kind of cat this is but I thought it was beautiful. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/p31469e3753382d0cb041d971613c4251/fd4c651f.jpg

Here's an Aby kitten. This kitten stole my heart. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid31/pe8f98ac1d8737bd3f40a850b8140fa99/fd4c5ecf.jpg

What great photos. Thanks for sharing them. I feel as though I just went to a cat show! I love the shots of the Abys and of the Ragdoll. Guess why?

Marvelous shots, KAK!

Guess what? Someone bought one of the cat exercise wheels! They were lugging it out when I went back to get my raffle prizes today.

Yes, your third photo is one of the lovely blue Abys at the show.

Wolflady can keep the difference between Ruddy Abys and Red Abys straight. I keep thinking I've got it and confuse myself all over again.

Oh, blush :o . Were you the one I shot off my mouth to about finally figuring out the emblem of the show's theme: "In the Chips"? Going in, I figured it was the Silicon Valley microcircuit chips, right? Then, at ring 3 (pretty blond judge with the great smile with the dilute calico -- your second photo, just under the wheel) I spotted the plates with toy fish and plastic "French Fries" so I go on and on about Fish and CHIPs being the theme. Today I notice the decorations at the other 5 rings: 1) Potato Chips, 2) Chocolate Chips, 3) Cow "chips", 4) Silicon Chips (after all) and 5) Poker Chips. It was a diversity thingie and I never caught on till HOURS into it all... :o  ;) I'd make a poor detective...

Anyway, great photos...

Great pictures!!
I went to the Fort Worth cat show yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures. So many beautiful cats, from tiny Abyssinian babies to huge maine coons.
Bought some Feathers and a bag of "Evolve" food for my spoiled brats.

Maybe if I bring my camera to the November Cat Show then I'll be sure to get someone to take one. I think that Kelly, Noah's Mommy, will also be going so you could see a pic of four Pet Talkers. :)

Those are great pictures. The cat wheel is funny, I can't imagine my cats ever using something like that. I really loved the pictures of the Aby kitten, it was so cute

How fun!! What great pictures!! I love seeing all the different cats! :)

I am trying to figure out a way to come to the November show, it would be so fun to meet two new pet talkers and to see Karen again! And YES, pictures are in order! :)

What great pictures. The cats are all beautiful, but then again it was a cat show so one would assume the cats would be beautiful. ;) I've never been to a cat show, but I think it would be fun. Maybe we can do some research and when one comes to the Chicago area some of us midwesterners can get together for it. Where do I look - under the Cat Fancier's page? I'm not too familiar with purebreds so I'm not too familiar with the associations that put on cat shows. Any ideas or links? Thanks so much and it sounds like you guys had a great time. :)

Wow! Those came out great!! :D It was like reliving the catshow all over again! I'm still so amazed at how elegant and small (compared to my cats) some of the show cats are in purrson. Since I've only really seen most of them in pics in magazines, I always assumed them to be larger than they really are. Particularly the Abbys and the Siamese cats. :D The bengals are just beautiful and I just loved all the long-haired cats. Heck...they were all beautiful and it's so hard trying to resist the urge to touch....;) LOL

Debbie -

I have been to a couple in the area -- once in Milwaukee with Efrat from Israel (I think you were out of town!) and once my husband and I went to one at Arlington Race track (actually it was an all pet show -- with a large cat section.) He heard about it on the radio.

Let me know if you find one. I'm game.

Yes, we did! I did a little digging and started a thread here in Cat General for what I found in the Illinois area for the next couple months. Good luck. Hope that you have as good a time as we did!

P.S. Cat Fancy Assoc., from what I understand, is primarily 'show cats' and purebreeds. The International Cat Association (TICA) shows have a heavier conscentration on household pets, from what I'm told. There is a TICA show in Prunedale CA (about an hour south of here) for household pets only on 9 Nov that interests me, too... So many cats, so little time!
