Last month, a major electrical storm went roaring through southern Minnesota like a sow grizzly with a toothache.

Immediately christened "The Perfect Storm" by me and others who got caught in it, it featured high winds, continual lightning, and torrential rains.

Here's a picture of it, just as the sun was going down. About twenty minutes after this picture was taken, all bloody hell broke loose.

Great picture but why would any storm be the perfect one? Do you mean that the things happening were awesome to see and didn't do much damage? or just that it was beautiful to see nature at work?

well i dont know why they christiened this storm the perfect storm but by defintion it is..

The phrase perfect storm originates from the 1997 book The Perfect Storm which refers to the simultaneous occurrence of weather events which, taken individually, would be far less powerful than the storm resulting of their chance combination. Such occurrences are rare by their very nature, so that even a slight change in any one event contributing to the perfect storm would lessen its overall impact.
